Bottom line: XInterview AI is a one-way video interview tool. You post a job, write or generate questions, and send candidates a link; they record answers on their phone or laptop without making an account, and you review, rate and shortlist them later. On AppSumo it sells as ten stacked plans, from $89 once for one code to $890 once for ten. The detail to read first is the storage clock. Plan 1 says “Each video is stored for 30 days,” and even the top plans stop at 90 days, so the access is lifetime but each recording isn’t. Plan 1 also leaves out SMTP email, the candidate response shareable link and AI transcripts. The listing shows “No “We Got Your Back” guarantee,” though it’s refundable for 60 days.
Best for: small businesses, agencies and recruiters who screen a steady stream of applicants for similar roles and are happy to download what they keep.
Think twice if: you need an ATS that stores interview records for years, more than 10 seats, or a vendor with a long public track record.
We have no affiliate deal with XInterview or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.
Updated 29 October 2026. This XInterview AI review rests on what we read that day: the XInterview AI listing on AppSumo, including all ten plan cards, the deal terms, questions and reviews, and XInterview’s own pricing page. We haven’t run a hiring round with it, so we describe the plans, the limits and what buyers report, not how well the AI judges a candidate.

What XInterview AI does
Here’s the idea in practice. Instead of booking a dozen 20-minute screening calls, you write the questions once, and each candidate answers them on video when it suits them. The listing says candidates “don’t have to register or download an app to submit a response,” and that it works on smartphones. You then watch, rate and add private notes, and only the people worth a real conversation get one.
The features the listing includes in every plan:
- Inviting: by link, by email, or in bulk with a CSV upload, plus a toggle to collect a resume or CV.
- Questions: unlimited questions per job post, AI-generated questions, an AI-generated job description and saved question templates.
- Reviewing: unlimited views of responses, private notes and ratings, application tracking, and downloads of videos and resumes.
- Reporting: analytics, CSV export of all responses, and email automation and workflows.
- Branding: a custom branded application page.
- Languages: “Support over 40 languages, like English, Spanish, German, Dutch, French, Portuguese, and Arabic.”
The listing names LinkedIn, webhooks and Zapier as integrations. The overview also says the AI looks for “communication, professionalism, and culture fit.” We can’t tell you how well that works; nothing on either page shows how the scoring is done, and we didn’t run candidates through it.
On cheating, a buyer asked in August 2026 whether the tool can tell if a candidate is using AI during the interview. The team answered on 13 August 2026 that there’s “an anti-cheating system” with “tab-switch detection, fullscreen monitoring, right-click disabling, and other browser-level controls.” That’s browser controls, not AI detection, so read it carefully if that’s your worry.
The storage clock most people miss
Most people miss this line on the plan cards, because it sits among a dozen ticks. Plan 1 reads “Each video is stored for 30 days.” Plan 2 raises it to 60 days. Plans 3 to 10 all read 90 days. Nothing above Plan 3 stretches it further.
So the “lifetime” in “Lifetime access to Xinterview” covers your account, not your recordings. When you hire slowly, or a hiring manager takes a month to get round to watching, the clock still runs. Every plan includes “Download videos and resumes,” which is the fix: download the answers from anyone you might want to revisit before the window shuts. Don’t forget that if your company has to keep interview records for a set time, that duty falls on you, not on the tool.
We couldn’t find on either page whether the clock starts when the candidate records or when the job closes, or whether the written notes and ratings outlive the video. Ask support before you rely on either.
The ten plans, code by code
Each code costs $89, and the listing prints a struck-through $816 next to it ($8,160 next to Plan 10) with “89% off.” That “was” figure is the listing’s. In practice, what matters is what each extra code unlocks:
| Plan | Price once | Active jobs | Responses a month | Video kept | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plan 1 | $89 | 5 | 200 | 30 days | Core features |
| Plan 2 | $178 | 15 | 400 | 60 days | Shareable response link, SMTP, email templates |
| Plan 3 | $267 | Unlimited | 600 | 90 days | AI transcripts, up to 3 users |
| Plan 4 | $356 | Unlimited | 800 | 90 days | Up to 4 users |
| Plan 5 | $445 | Unlimited | 1,000 | 90 days | Custom subdomain / CNAME, 5 users |
| Plans 6-9 | $534-$801 | Unlimited | 1,200-1,800 | 90 days | One more user per code |
| Plan 10 | $890 | Unlimited | 2,000 | 90 days | White labelling, 10 users |
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Plan 1 Occasional hiring |
$89 once |
| Plan 2 Small teams |
$178 once |
| Plan 3 Recruiters |
$267 once |
| Plan 5 Agencies needing their own domain |
$445 once |
| Plan 10 White-label agencies |
$890 once |
One-time prices on AppSumo, read 29 October 2026; ten plans at $89 per stacked code ($89 to $890). Plans 4 and 6-9 add 200 responses and one user per code. XInterview's own site lists Launch $68, Growth $187 and Scale $299 a month billed annually ($90, $249 and $399 monthly), with a 14-day free trial and a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on XInterview AI’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.
When you compare Plan 1 with Plan 2, two gaps stand out. First, SMTP. A November 2025 reviewer who refunded the deal wrote that there was “No SMTP or Gmail connection with a single code.” The plan cards bear that out: SMTP Integration starts at Plan 2. Second, users. Plan 1 and Plan 2 don’t list a user count at all; the first seat number on the cards is “Up to 3 users” on Plan 3. XInterview’s own Launch plan lists 3 users, so ask what Plans 1 and 2 actually get.
If you’ve counted on transcripts, don’t forget they start at Plan 3. On 23 October 2026 a buyer asked where to download an interview transcript and whether transcripts were “included in the T2 Appsumo plan.” We saw no answer yet. Going by the cards, “Get AI transcripts of the video” isn’t on Plan 2.
Picking a plan: four worked examples
Turns out the response cap is the number to size around, because jobs go unlimited at Plan 3 while responses climb only 200 per code.
A small business hiring twice a quarter. Say two open roles at a time with 60 applicants each: 120 responses in a busy month. Plan 1’s 200 a month covers it, and five active jobs is plenty. The catch is email: without SMTP, check how invitations will look before you commit.
A growing company with steady hiring. Eight open roles, 40 candidates each, is 320 responses a month and more than Plan 1’s five jobs. Plan 2 ($178) fits on both counts, with 15 jobs and 400 responses, and it doubles the storage to 60 days. If you’ve got a second person reviewing, though, look at Plan 3 for the stated seats.
A recruiting agency with a few clients. Twelve roles across clients at 50 candidates each is 600 responses a month. That’s exactly Plan 3’s cap with no room for a spike. Plan 4 ($356) adds 200 responses of headroom and a fourth user. Honestly, when you’re near a cap, buy the next code; the monthly limit doesn’t care that one job got more applicants than you expected.
An agency that wants clients to see its own domain. Custom subdomain and CNAME start at Plan 5 ($445). Full white labelling, which the card describes as “Ability to Remove Logo from Candidate Application/Shareable Page,” is only on Plan 10 ($890). A buyer asked in August 2026 whether Plan 10’s “10 users” also limits how many subdomains you can run. We saw no answer to that follow-up.
We also couldn’t confirm whether one “response” means one candidate’s full interview or one answer to one question. That changes every sum above by a factor of your question count, so it’s the first thing to check inside the refund window.
The deal vs XInterview’s own plans
XInterview’s pricing page, read on 29 October 2026, lists three subscriptions with a “14 Day Free trial no-credit card required” and a “14-day money back guarantee”:
| XInterview plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Jobs | Responses | Storage | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | $68 a month | $90 a month | 5 | 200 | 30 days | 3 |
| Growth | $187 a month | $249 a month | 15 | 1,000 | 60 days | 10 |
| Scale | $299 a month | $399 a month | Unlimited | 2,000 | 90 days | 30 |
Launch shows crosses next to “Custom Shared Links” and “White Label.” Growth adds custom shared links; only Scale ticks white label. The page doesn’t mention CNAME on any plan. The annual toggle carries a “SAVE 40%” hint, though $68 against $90 works out to about a quarter off.
Line them up and AppSumo’s Plan 1 is a lifetime version of Launch on jobs, responses and storage, which matches the deal term “All future Launch Plan updates.” The listing’s struck-through $816 is the same as twelve months of Launch at $68. Plan 10 matches Scale on responses and storage but stops at 10 users, against Scale’s 30.
A June 2026 buyer noticed the tiers don’t map neatly and asked how the deal relates to the Launch plan. The team replied on 4 June 2026 that “the AppSumo deal is structured differently to balance feature availability across the various lifetime tiers,” with “the core functionality” from Level 3 and CNAME and white-label links in higher tiers. That’s a fair answer, but it means “Launch Plan updates” doesn’t promise every Launch feature on every code.
What buyers report
The listing shows 4.58 stars from 77 reviews: 64 five-star, 2 four-star, 5 three-star, 4 two-star and 2 one-star. The written reviews split more sharply than that average suggests.
Happy, cost-focused users. A 6 May 2026 reviewer says they’d “saved almost $2,000 every year” after switching from other video interview platforms, and that minor bugs they reported were fixed the same day. A 6 March 2026 reviewer who hires sales setters says it stopped them wasting hours on calls with candidates they’d reject anyway.
Recordings that went missing. A 9 June 2026 review titled “It used to be good” says that on one job link about 15 people completed recordings, “but not a single one was visible on our end,” and that support suggested asking candidates to retake. The team replied the same day that a job clone interrupted by a network issue had unlinked the recordings, and that it was fixed that day.
Refunded as unfinished. A November 2025 reviewer called it “More Beta Than Better,” liked the candidate side and the prep time it gives, and refunded over the missing SMTP on one code.
A serious dispute. A 20 January 2026 reviewer says they reported 35 to 40 bugs that wouldn’t be fixed, and questions the company’s G2 awards and its size. The team replied on 22 January 2026 that the awards are “legitimately earned and published by G2.” We can’t settle that from the pages we read, but it’s a reason to test hard before day 60.
Promises with dates. In January 2025 the team announced a February update including a CDN, better transcription and Zapier. The listing now names Zapier and webhooks, but we can’t verify the rest.
The terms
The deal terms read:
- “Lifetime access to Xinterview”
- “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase”
- “All future Launch Plan updates”
- “Stack up to 10 codes”
The guarantee line reads “No “We Got Your Back” guarantee.” Under it: “This listing is managed by the partner who built the product — we haven’t vetted it, so this guarantee doesn’t apply.” The listing still says “Refundable up to 60 days from your purchase date.” The listing doesn’t say the deal is permanent, and a buyer asked in August 2026 how long it would stay up; we saw no answer.
XInterview AI vs VideoAsk and AsyncInterview
The listing names VideoAsk as the tool it’s an alternative to, and one reviewer compares it with AsyncInterview.ai, which they kept. We didn’t price VideoAsk or AsyncInterview for this review and can’t compare their features fairly. What we can say: XInterview is built around job posts, applicants and hiring stages, so if you only need a general video form, a broader tool may fit better, and if you need an applicant tracker, check whether this one goes far enough.
Common mistakes with the XInterview AI deal
Treating the archive as permanent. Videos are kept 30 to 90 days. Don’t forget to download what you need.
Buying Plan 1 and expecting branded email. SMTP and custom email templates start at Plan 2.
Expecting transcripts below Plan 3. The cards put AI transcripts on Plan 3 and up.
Assuming seats on Plans 1 and 2. Neither card states a user count. Ask before your team signs in.
Paying for Plan 5 to get white label. Plan 5 adds a custom subdomain; removing the logo is Plan 10.
Skipping the redemption deadline. When you buy, the codes must be redeemed within 60 days of purchase.
Who XInterview AI suits
A small team doing occasional hiring. Plan 2 is the sensible floor: 15 jobs, 400 responses, 60 days of storage and your own SMTP.
A recruiter or agency. Plans 3 to 5, depending on responses and whether clients should see your domain.
A company with record-keeping duties. Skip the deal unless you’re comfortable downloading every interview you must keep.
A large hiring team. If you’ve got more than ten reviewers, skip the deal: ten users is the ceiling here, and XInterview’s Scale plan lists 30.
How to test it inside the refund window
- Run one real job with a handful of colleagues as candidates, on a phone and a laptop.
- Check what one “response” counts as against your monthly allowance after those tests.
- Clone a job and re-test it, given the June 2026 report about recordings missing after a clone.
- Download a video and a resume and confirm you can store them where your records live.
- Ask support two questions in writing: your seat count, and when the storage clock starts.
What we couldn’t check
We didn’t run interviews, so we can’t speak to video quality, AI question quality or how the AI rates candidates. We couldn’t confirm how responses are counted, the seat count on Plans 1 and 2, when the storage clock starts, or the company’s size and location, which neither page states; the AppSumo listing names a co-founder, Jigar, and the “Xinterview Team.” The October 2026 transcript question and two August 2026 follow-ups had no answer when we read them.
FAQ: XInterview AI questions
How much is XInterview AI on AppSumo?
On 29 October 2026, $89 per code, once. Ten plans run from $89 (one code) to $890 (ten codes).
How long does XInterview keep candidate videos?
The plan cards say 30 days on Plan 1, 60 days on Plan 2 and 90 days on Plans 3 to 10. Every plan includes downloads of videos and resumes.
Is the XInterview AI deal refundable?
Yes. The listing says “Refundable up to 60 days from your purchase date,” though it carries no “We Got Your Back” guarantee. XInterview’s own subscriptions list a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Which plan has white label?
Only Plan 10. Plan 5 adds a custom subdomain and CNAME, and the team confirmed white label isn’t in Plan 2.
The verdict
XInterview AI does a useful, narrow job: it turns first-round screening calls into recorded answers you can review when you like, and Plan 1’s $89 is less than two months of its Launch subscription on annual billing. The deal gets better from Plan 2, where email and longer storage arrive, and that’s where we’d start if we were hiring regularly. The risks are real, though. Recordings expire, some features sit several codes up, and the written reviews include serious bug reports alongside happy users. Buy the plan that fits your response count, run a real hiring round in the first month, and keep the refund window in mind.
