Bottom line: Bit Assist is a WordPress plugin from Bit Apps that puts one floating button on your site. Click it and visitors pick how to reach you: WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, a call, an SMS, a contact form, an FAQ, a WooCommerce order lookup, or a live chat tool you already use. On AppSumo one code costs $49 once for 5 sites, and codes stack up to unlimited sites. Bit Assist’s own site sells a single-site lifetime licence for $99 and unlimited sites for $209, with a 14-day guarantee, so the deal is cheaper and carries a 60-day refund window. The thing to understand first: it’s a launcher, not an inbox. Support says plainly that “Bit Assist only embeds the script and displays the widget in your site.” The listing is “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”
Best for: small businesses, shops and agencies that already answer customers on WhatsApp, Messenger or a live chat tool and want one tidy button that sends visitors there.
Think twice if: you want a shared inbox, an AI chatbot or auto-replies inside the widget, or if you’ve got no WordPress site at all.
We have no affiliate deal with Bit Apps or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.
Updated 29 October 2026. This Bit Assist review rests on what we read that day: the Bit Assist listing on AppSumo, including the plan card, the deal terms, questions and reviews, Bit Assist’s own pricing page, its External Publish documentation and the free plugin’s page on WordPress.org. We haven’t installed the widget on a live site, so we describe the plan, the features and what buyers report, not page speed or how many leads it brings.

What Bit Assist does
You install the plugin on WordPress, build a widget, and add channels to it. Each channel is a button inside the widget. Some open a messaging app, some open a tool inside the widget itself. The overview names WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Slack, Instagram, TikTok, Discord, LinkedIn, Viber, WeChat, Skype, Snapchat, Signal, YouTube and Pinterest, plus live chat tools “like Tidio, Tawk.to, Intercom, and Crisp.”
The in-widget tools are where it goes past a plain WhatsApp button. The plan card lists:
- Help content: a knowledge base and an FAQ.
- Lead capture: a custom form with a form submit response, and a webhook to send form data elsewhere.
- Behaviour: click to open or open by default, a call-to-action message that appears “after certain seconds,” and triggers on delay or page scroll.
- Looks: colour, icon, position, size and shape, plus dark mode and custom CSS.
- Control: business hours, page filters, and publishing the widget on an external website.
The overview adds WP Search, WooCommerce order status, a call button, SMS, Google Maps, Calendly, TidyCal, Waze, custom channels and a custom iframe, along with built-in analytics for “visitors, total clicks, and click rate” and Google Analytics tracking.
Bit Assist’s own pricing page lists the same family of features under “All Plans Include,” and adds multiple language support and a “GDPR-Compliant Design.”
The thing most people miss: it doesn’t hold the conversation
Here’s the line most people miss when they read “Intercom alternative” on the listing. Bit Assist doesn’t receive or store chats. When a visitor taps WhatsApp, the chat happens in WhatsApp. When they tap Tawk.to, it happens in Tawk.to. Bit Assist is the door, not the room.
A buyer asked in June 2026 about AI chat, auto-responses and booking. BitApps_Support answered that Bit Assist does “not have any AI integration or AI chat bot feature,” that auto-responses exist only inside the embedded live chat platforms and “has to be configured within those platform,” and that meetings go through the Calendly channel. That’s an honest answer, and it should shape what you buy.
The WordPress.org page says the same thing in its own words: “Bit Assist isn’t itself a dedicated chat widget system.” So when you compare it with Intercom, you’re comparing a button that can open Intercom with Intercom itself.
The contact form is the one place Bit Assist does collect messages. Even there, a July 2026 buyer reported they weren’t being told when someone filled it in, and that their support email had gone a week without a reply. BitApps_Support’s answer on the listing: “The Email notification on Custom Form submission needs SMTP setup.” Don’t skip this step: if your site doesn’t send email reliably already, sort that first.
You still need one WordPress site
The listing says you can use Bit Assist on “Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, and more” through External Publish. That’s true, with a condition. In April 2026 a buyer with a Blogger site asked whether it would work there. Support replied that it can, “But to use this feature, you must need to have a WordPress site first.” Bit Assist’s own FAQ says the same: “you need to install it on a WordPress website first.”
In practice that means one WordPress install acts as your control panel, and External Publish gives you a script to paste into the other sites. The documentation marks External Publish as a Pro feature and says it “is currently not supported on Google Sites.” If you’ve got no WordPress site anywhere, turns out you’d need to set one up just to manage the widget.
The plan, and how stacking works
There’s one plan on AppSumo. The card reads “One time payment of $49,” with $95 struck through, and lists 5 sites, “21+ channels” and “Unlimited widgets and channels.” Below the feature list it spells out stacking:
- 1 code ($49): 5 sites
- 2 codes ($98): “Stack 2 codes = 50 sites”
- 3 codes ($147): “Stack 3 codes = 100 sites”
- 4 codes ($196): “Stack 4 codes = unlimited sites”
The $95 figure is the listing’s own “was” price. We don’t treat it as a saving.
Note the channel count wobbles across the listing. The tagline says “20+ social channels,” the plan card says “21+ channels,” and the overview says “30+ messaging, support, and action channels.” The WordPress.org page lists 34 channels by name, including the in-widget tools. The difference seems to be what counts as a “channel,” but we couldn’t confirm which number the AppSumo code unlocks, so check your must-have channels inside the refund window.
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Bit Assist (1 code) Up to 5 sites |
$49 once |
| 2 codes Freelancers |
$98 once |
| 3 codes Studios |
$147 once |
| 4 codes Agencies |
$196 once |
One-time prices on AppSumo, read 29 October 2026; the listing shows $95 struck through for 1 code. Bit Assist's own site, during a timed sale, lists Starter $19 a year or $99 lifetime (1 site) and Agency $59 a year or $209 lifetime (unlimited sites), with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on Bit Assist’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.
Picking a code count: four worked examples
The jump from 5 sites to 50 is the interesting part of this pricing, so the sums matter.
One small business, one site. One code at $49 covers it, with four spare slots. Bit Assist’s own Starter lifetime licence is $99 for one site, and the Starter annual plan is $19 a year at today’s sale price, so $49 equals about two and a half years of the annual plan. If you’ve only got WhatsApp and a couple of other buttons in mind, honestly, look at the free version first; WordPress.org says it allows “one widget activated at a time” and “24 channels from 30+.”
A freelancer with 12 client sites. One code stops at 5. Two codes, $98, cover 50 sites, which leaves room for years of new clients. Don’t forget your own site, staging copies and test installs count as sites too, as far as we can tell.
A studio with 70 sites. Two codes stop at 50, so you need three: $147 for 100 sites.
An agency with 150 sites, or no idea. Four codes, $196, for unlimited sites. Bit Assist’s own Agency lifetime licence is $209 for unlimited sites, so the AppSumo route saves $13 on the pages we read, and swaps a 14-day refund for 60 days. The Agency annual plan is $59 a year at today’s sale price; four codes cost about what three and a third years of that would.
Most people skip the stacking maths and buy one code. If you’ve got more than five sites, or expect to, buy the right number of codes now, while the listing is up.
The deal vs Bit Assist’s own plans
Bit Assist’s pricing page, read on 29 October 2026, showed a countdown banner and these prices, each with a higher figure struck through:
| Bit Assist’s own plan | Price | Sites | Updates and support |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (Annual) | $19 a year | 1 | 1 year |
| Starter Lifetime | $99 once | 1 | Lifetime |
| Agency (Annual) | $59 a year | Unlimited | 1 year |
| Agency Lifetime | $209 once, or $86 x 3 months | Unlimited | Lifetime |
Two things stand out. First, Bit Assist doesn’t sell a 5-site tier at all, so AppSumo’s single code has no direct match; it sits between Starter and Agency. Second, in practice the vendor’s prices are a timed sale, so they may move. The pricing page also offers a “No Question Asked – 14 Day Money Back Guarantee,” while AppSumo’s window is 60 days.
The deal terms say “All future plan updates,” without naming which Bit Assist plan your code follows. With a 5-site tier that doesn’t exist on the vendor’s site, that’s worth a question to support before day 60.
What buyers report
The listing shows 4.94 stars from 70 reviews. The rating breakdown is 69 five-taco reviews and one one-taco review. AppSumo doesn’t show a “bought” count on this listing.
Support gets named often. A February 2026 reviewer thanked two team members who “helped to resolve my access to the plugin promptly.” A January 2026 reviewer called it a “Solid, well-built chat app with excellent support” and said they’d used several products from the developer.
It’s light and fast to set up. An October 2025 reviewer said they added a floating button “Within minutes” without slowing the page, and liked using it “on multiple sites with a single installation,” which is External Publish at work. A June 2025 reviewer called it “bloat free.”
The critical voices are specific. A November 2024 reviewer running a store and a blog found the analytics “pretty basic,” wanted to filter messages by topic, and said setting up the widget “from scratch for each site feels like extra work.” They wanted a way to clone settings. The one-taco review, from June 2024, reported that the built-in contact form “sometimes fails to send,” that uploaded icons got cropped, and that 5 sites for about $50 felt “too expensive.” Honestly, both are old now, and we can’t tell what has been fixed since.
The free version had a gap. In February 2026 the founder explained on the listing that the free version was “temporarily” missing from the WordPress repository while they answered WordPress’s questions, and said this wasn’t “related to any bug or security issues.” When we checked on 29 October, the WordPress.org page was live, showing version 1.8.3 and “9,000+” active installations.
Other Bit Apps tools aren’t in the deal. In October 2026 the founder said there’s no plan to bring Bit Connect to AppSumo. The July 2026 founder update lists Bit Form, Bit Flows, Bit Integrations, Bit Social, Bit File Manager and Bit SMTP, and says “these products are not included in this deal.”
The terms
The deal terms read:
- “Lifetime access to Bit Assist”
- “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase”
- “All future plan updates”
The guarantee line reads “Not covered by We Got Your Back. Listed by the partner, not reviewed by AppSumo.” The card still says “Refundable up to 60 days.” When you read these terms, remember the listing can end like any other; AppSumo’s own footer says “All our deals are time-sensitive!”
Bit Assist vs Intercom, Chaty and the free version
The listing frames Bit Assist as an alternative to Intercom. On the pages we read, that’s not quite the right comparison: Bit Assist lists Intercom as one of the live chat tools it can open, and support says it has no chatbot of its own. If you need an inbox your team answers from, you’d still need a tool like that behind the button. We didn’t price Intercom for this review.
Bit Assist’s own site links to comparisons with Chaty and Buttonizer, two other contact-button plugins. We didn’t read those pages or price either tool, so we won’t say which is better. When you shortlist them, put your exact channel list next to each one; channel coverage is where these tools differ.
The fairest rival is Bit Assist’s own free version. One widget and 24 channels is plenty for a site that needs a WhatsApp button and a map. The Pro features that the docs and WordPress.org page mark as paid include webhooks, analytics, External Publish, business hours and page-specific rules.
Common mistakes with the Bit Assist deal
Expecting a chat inbox. Conversations happen in WhatsApp, Messenger or your live chat tool. Bit Assist only shows the button.
Buying for a site with no WordPress anywhere. External Publish needs a WordPress install first.
Skipping SMTP. Form notifications by email need SMTP set up on your site, per support.
Buying one code for twelve clients. One code is 5 sites; two codes jump to 50.
Assuming AI or auto-replies. Support says there’s no AI chat feature. Auto-replies live inside the embedded live chat platform.
Counting on the big channel number. Most people miss that the listing says 20+, 21+ and 30+ in different places. Check yours.
Who Bit Assist suits
A local business that lives on WhatsApp. One code gives you a branded button, business hours, a map and a call link.
A WooCommerce shop. Order status lookups and a WP search inside the widget can head off “where’s my order” messages.
A freelancer or agency. Two to four codes cover 50 sites to unlimited, with External Publish for non-WordPress clients.
A support team that wants one shared inbox. Skip the deal; this isn’t that tool.
How to test it inside the refund window
- Install it on a staging copy of your WordPress site and build one widget with your three main channels.
- Set up SMTP and submit the contact form a few times to check notifications arrive.
- Publish the widget to one non-WordPress site with External Publish, and ask support whether that site counts toward your 5.
- Check every channel you need is unlocked under your code, since the listing quotes three different counts.
- Ask support which plan “All future plan updates” maps to, and keep the answer.
What we couldn’t check
We didn’t install the widget, test any channel or measure page speed. We couldn’t confirm whether sites added through External Publish count toward the 5-site limit, which of the listing’s channel counts applies to the code, whether the 2024 form-sending and icon issues are fixed, or which Bit Assist plan the update promise follows. The listing doesn’t show a “bought” count or the company’s founding year and size. Settle the first three before day 60.
FAQ: Bit Assist questions
Is Bit Assist a one-time payment on AppSumo?
Yes. One code is $49 once for 5 sites, read on 29 October 2026. Two codes cover 50 sites, three cover 100 and four cover unlimited sites.
Does Bit Assist have a live chat inbox or AI chatbot?
No. Support says it has no AI chat feature and “only embeds the script and displays the widget.” Chats happen in the app or live chat tool the visitor picks.
Can I use Bit Assist on Shopify, Wix or Webflow?
Yes, through External Publish, but you need a WordPress site first to manage the widget. The docs say Google Sites isn’t supported.
Is the AppSumo deal cheaper than buying Bit Assist directly?
On the pages we read, yes. Bit Assist sells 1 site for $99 and unlimited sites for $209 lifetime, with a 14-day guarantee; AppSumo sells 5 sites for $49 and unlimited for $196, with 60 days.
The verdict
Bit Assist does a narrow job well, by the account of its buyers: it gathers every way to reach you behind one button and lets you style and time it. The AppSumo pricing beats Bit Assist’s own lifetime licences at every size, and the refund window is four times longer. The limits are about what the product is, not hidden catches: no inbox, no AI, a WordPress site required, and email alerts that depend on your SMTP. Buy it as a smart contact button, not as Intercom, and don’t forget to test your form notifications before day 60.
