AnyChat review: the inbox is lifetime, the AI bill is yours

AnyChat puts live chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and email into one shared inbox, with chatbots, tickets and a knowledge base. AppSumo sells it for $49, $98 or $147 once. The AI assistants run on an API key you supply.

Small businesses, consultants, agencies

Bottom line: AnyChat is a customer support platform from a small, bootstrapped team in Kyiv. It pulls live chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and email into one shared inbox, and adds chatbots, AI assistants, tickets, a light CRM, a knowledge base and WhatsApp campaigns. On AppSumo it sells three tiers, $49, $98 and $147 once, which line up with AnyChat’s own Starter, Advanced and Growth subscriptions at $89, $149 and $199 a year. The thing to understand before buying: AnyChat’s own AI page describes running the assistants on “your own AI API key”, and neither page lists AI credits in any plan. The lower tiers also keep chat history for 60 or 90 days. The listing is refundable up to 60 days and “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”

Best for: small businesses, consultants and agencies who answer customers on several messaging apps and want one inbox with bots, for a one-time price.

Think twice if: you want AI replies with nothing extra to set up or pay for, or your team has no one comfortable with technical setup.

Updated 29 October 2026. This AnyChat review rests on what we read that day: the AnyChat listing on AppSumo, including all three plans, the deal terms, the FAQs, founder posts, questions and reviews, plus AnyChat’s own pricing page and its AI page. We haven’t run an inbox on it, so we describe the plans, the limits and what buyers report, not reply times or bot accuracy.

What AnyChat does

AnyChat is a shared inbox with automation around it. You connect your channels, put a chat widget on your site, and your team answers everything from one dashboard. The listing’s summary says it handles “email, live chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, and beyond”, and its FAQ claims “over 50 communication channels”. Every AppSumo plan card shows the same feature ticks:

  • Inbox and helpdesk: shared inbox, helpdesk, email-to-ticket and a CRM for contacts and organisations.
  • Self-service: a knowledge base you can publish on a custom domain.
  • Automation: chat flows (AnyChat’s no-code bot builder) and AI assistants trained on your files, website pages and knowledge base.
  • Outbound: WhatsApp business campaigns.
  • Branding: unlimited widget customisations, removable widget branding, a custom domain and dashboard branding.

The FAQ adds a WordPress plugin, real-time translation and apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. It also mentions agency plans with sub-accounts for clients, and the founder posts describe an agency plan builder, a shared OpenAI key for clients and white-label settings.

The product has kept moving. The latest founder post on the listing, version 1.8.56 from 14 September 2026, added MCP servers in AI assistants, Comment-to-DM for Facebook and Instagram, file attachments in flows and chat export. Turns out the post pinned at the top of the listing is from September 2024, though; a buyer asked about that “outdated information” on 28 October 2026, and the founder replied they’d contact AppSumo.

The thing most people miss: the AI runs on your key

Here’s the line most people miss. The AppSumo plan cards list “AI assistants: 3” on Starter, 5 on Advanced and unlimited on Growth. That’s a count of assistants you can build, not an allowance of AI replies. AnyChat’s own AI page has a section titled “Connect Your Own AI API Key” and says you “use your personal API key from any compatible provider to power AI assistants while managing limits, costs, and access directly.” The homepage names OpenAI, OpenRouter, Gemini, DeepSeek, Claude and Grok as providers.

So the lifetime price covers the platform. The model’s usage is billed by whichever AI provider you connect, on your own account. We found no AI credits mentioned on any AppSumo or AnyChat plan. In practice that’s good and bad. You’re not stuck with a credit cap that runs out mid-month, and you can pick a cheaper model. But you need an API account, a card on file with that provider, and someone who knows roughly what a support bot costs to run.

Buyers are asking the detailed questions. On 15 September 2026 an agency asked whether assistants trained on files and websites had moved off OpenAI’s older Assistants API, whether each workspace could use a separate key, and whether “embeddings, vector storage and file search” are “billed to our API account.” On 5 October 2026 another buyer asked about AI history and “token cost”, including whether tool results are re-sent on every request. We found no founder answer to either on the listing when we checked, though the first had two comments we couldn’t open. If AI replies are the reason you’re buying, don’t forget to get those answers in writing before day 60.

Plans and limits

All three tiers show “Unlimited” channels, domains and conversations. The differences sit in the rows under that:

One-time prices on AppSumo; each plan is a number of stacked codes (1 to 3). AnyChat's own site lists Free, Starter $9 a month or $89 a year, Advanced $14 or $149, and Growth $19 or $199, with a 14-day trial. AI usage is billed by the provider whose API key you connect.

Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on AnyChat’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.

The terms say “This deal is stackable,” and the prices are multiples of $49, so Advanced is two codes and Growth is three.

Two rows matter more than they look. Chat history is 60 days on Starter and 90 days on Advanced; AnyChat’s own pricing page labels the same row “Data retention.” When you have customers who come back after a season, a 60-day window may mean the earlier conversation is gone. We couldn’t find on either page exactly what happens to older chats, so ask. Inbox integrations is 1 on Starter, next to “Channels: Unlimited.” AnyChat’s own Starter plan reads “Channels: All x 1.” Our reading is one connection of each channel type, so one WhatsApp number, but neither page spells it out. If you’ve got two WhatsApp numbers or two Instagram accounts, confirm before buying.

Picking a plan: four worked examples

A shop with one website and one WhatsApp number. Two people answer chats. Starter covers it on paper: 3 agents, 1 workspace, 1 widget. The catch is the 60-day history. If you sell something people reorder every three months, you’ll lose the thread between orders. Advanced, at $98, stretches that to 90 days; only Growth keeps everything.

A consultant who wants a bot on the website. Starter’s 3 AI assistants and 3 chat flows are enough for a pricing bot, a booking bot and an FAQ bot. Add your own API costs on top. Honestly, this is where the deal is strongest, because the platform cost is a single $49.

A team of six. Advanced includes 5 agents, so the sixth person pushes you to Growth with 25. AnyChat’s own pricing page shows “3+”, “5+” and “25+” team members, which suggests extra seats exist on the subscription, but we found no seat add-on on the AppSumo listing.

An agency with eight client sites. Workspaces decide this one. Starter has 1 and Advanced 3, so eight clients means Growth with unlimited workspaces, widgets and history. A 28 October 2026 reviewer says they bought Tier 3 for agency work like this.

The deal vs AnyChat’s own plans

AnyChat’s pricing page, read on 29 October 2026, sells subscriptions only:

AnyChat’s own planMonthlyAnnuallyAgentsRetention
Free$0$0Not listed30 days, live chat only
Starter$9$893+60 days
Advanced$14$1495+90 days
Growth$19$19925+Unlimited

The AppSumo tiers mirror these names, and the terms promise “All future plan updates.” The sums are simple. Starter’s $49 equals about five and a half months of the $9 monthly plan, or a bit over half a year on the $89 annual price. Advanced’s $98 is seven months at $14. Growth’s $147 is under eight months at $19, and $52 less than one year at $199. If you’d keep AnyChat for more than a year, the lifetime tier pays for itself on these prices.

The pages don’t match perfectly. AnyChat’s own Starter shows 3 widgets and Advanced 5, while the AppSumo cards show 1 and 3. For AppSumo buyers, the listing’s card is the one that describes what you’re buying. The listing shows no struck-through price on any plan.

AnyChat also has a free plan with live chat and a 14-day trial on its paid plans, “No credit card” needed. If you’ve got doubts about the interface, skip the guesswork and try the free account first.

What buyers report

The listing shows 4.74 stars from 155 reviews: 138 five-star, 6 four-star, 4 three-star, 2 two-star and 5 one-star. It says 10,686 people bought it, and the questions tab holds 1,242 questions.

Features earn praise; the interface doesn’t. A 28 October 2026 reviewer who says they’ve bought more than ten chatbot platforms gave four tacos, calling it among “the strongest value-for-money options” they’ve used, but said “Navigating between workspaces isn’t always intuitive.” A 28 August 2026 review said much the same: “everything works like a charm,” but “I often find myself lost” in widget setup. The founder replied, “We will improve the UI.”

It suits technical buyers. A September 2026 reviewer from a no-code business said the team “ran into some snags,” especially with agency plan access, and asked for a refund, which they say the founder processed in full. Their advice: buy it if you have “some advanced Technical Skills.” An October 2026 question from a long-time owner called the documentation “confusing.”

Feature requests do land. On 13 September 2026 a reviewer asked for Comment-to-DM; the founder answered on 15 September that it had shipped “since today’s update (1.8.56).” On 28 October 2026 a buyer asked about routing email by alias for Google Workspace, and the founder said it was “implemented on the development server” for release “this week.”

Pace has slowed, by the founder’s own account. On 28 October 2026 a buyer asked whether development had slowed after the last campaign. The founder said a larger customer base means more support work, and that the team is “working on a completely redesigned interface and version 2.0 of the entire platform.”

Privacy answers are specific. In July 2026 the founder told an EU buyer that data is stored in the EU (Hetzner, Germany), linked a DPA and sub-processor list, and noted that connected services such as Meta and OpenAI can see chat data you route through them. An October 2026 answer confirmed authenticator-app two-factor login, with FIDO2 keys only “considered.”

The terms

The deal terms read:

  • “Lifetime access to AnyChat.”
  • “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase.”
  • “All future plan updates.”
  • “This deal is stackable.”

The guarantee line reads “Not covered by We Got Your Back. Listed by the partner, not reviewed by AppSumo.” The listing still says “Refundable up to 60 days.” Like any AppSumo deal, this one can end; don’t assume the tiers will still be on sale later.

AnyChat vs Intercom and respond.io

The listing names Intercom and respond.io as the tools AnyChat replaces. We didn’t read or price either for this review, so we won’t compare features or costs. What we can say from AnyChat’s pages: it’s a subscription-free way to get a multichannel inbox, bots and tickets, from a team of 1-10 people founded in June 2023. If you need a large vendor’s support contract and long track record, weigh that against the price. One reviewer described AnyChat as a “TAWK.TO + MANYCHAT ALTERNATIVE”; we didn’t check those tools either.

Common mistakes with the AnyChat deal

Expecting AI replies included. The assistants run on your own provider’s API key. Budget for that usage.

Ignoring the chat history row. Starter keeps 60 days and Advanced 90. If old conversations matter, buy Growth.

Assuming two numbers on Starter. “Inbox integrations: 1” sits next to “Channels: Unlimited.” Ask what it means for your setup.

Buying Starter for an agency. One workspace won’t hold several clients. Growth has unlimited workspaces.

Leaving setup to someone non-technical. Several buyers describe a learning curve; one refunded after struggling with agency settings.

Missing the redemption window. Codes must be redeemed within 60 days. Redeem straight away so testing time isn’t lost.

Who AnyChat suits

A small business answering on WhatsApp and Instagram. Starter or Advanced, with one shared inbox for both.

A consultant who wants a website bot. Starter, plus an API key from the provider you like.

An agency running inboxes for clients. Growth, for unlimited workspaces and the agency tools.

A team with no one technical. Start on AnyChat’s free plan before spending anything.

How to test it inside the refund window

  1. Connect your real channels, including every WhatsApp number and Instagram account, and see what Starter’s single inbox integration allows.
  2. Build one AI assistant on your own API key, train it on your help pages, and check your provider’s usage dashboard after a day.
  3. Ask support what happens to chats older than your plan’s history limit.
  4. Hand the widget setup to a teammate and see if they get it working without help.
  5. Send a test email-to-ticket and a test WhatsApp campaign message before day 60.

What we couldn’t check

We didn’t connect channels, run AI assistants or measure response times. We couldn’t confirm what “Inbox integrations: 1” allows, what happens to chats past the 60- or 90-day history, whether embeddings and file search bill to your own AI account, or why AnyChat’s own Starter lists 3 widgets where the AppSumo card lists 1. Settle these before day 60.

FAQ: AnyChat questions

Is AnyChat a one-time payment on AppSumo?

Yes. Starter is $49, Advanced $98 and Growth $147, once, as read on 29 October 2026. They’re 1, 2 and 3 stacked codes.

Does the AnyChat lifetime deal include AI credits?

Not on the pages we read. AnyChat’s AI page describes connecting your own API key from any OpenAI-compatible provider, so usage is billed by that provider.

How long does AnyChat keep chat history?

The AppSumo cards list 60 days on Starter, 90 days on Advanced and unlimited on Growth.

Is AnyChat refundable on AppSumo?

Yes, the listing says “Refundable up to 60 days,” but it’s “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”

The verdict

AnyChat packs a lot into a one-time price: a shared inbox across messaging apps, bots, AI assistants, tickets, a knowledge base and agency tools, from a founder who answers questions on the listing and ships requested features. Against its own $89 to $199 yearly plans, the lifetime tiers pay back inside a year. The costs to plan for are the AI usage on your own key, the short chat history on the lower tiers, and an interface that buyers keep calling confusing. For a technical buyer or an agency, Growth is the strong pick; test your real channels before day 60.
