Brandy review: unlimited brand spaces for $49, but the newer features cost extra

Brandy turns logos, colours and fonts into a shareable brand portal. AppSumo sells its Pro plan for $49 once, with unlimited brand spaces and users and 10 GB of storage. Subcollections, bento layouts and a custom favicon sit on paid tiers.

Bottom line: Brandy is a web app for brand guidelines. You put a client’s logos, colours, fonts and notes into a “brand space,” then share it as a link or on your own domain. On AppSumo it sells one plan, $49 once, described as “Lifetime access to all PRO features” with unlimited assets, users and brand spaces and 10 GB of storage. That’s a lot of brand spaces for very little money. The catch is where the line sits. Features Brandy has added since, such as subcollections, bento layouts and a custom favicon, belong to its Business and Agency subscriptions, and several buyers on the listing say they keep running into upgrade prompts. The deal is refundable for 60 days, and the listing is “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”

Best for: freelance designers and small agencies who want a clean, shareable brand page for each client on their own domain.

Think twice if: you need nested folders, a custom favicon on a white-label portal, or a lot of storage per client.

We have no affiliate deal with Brandy or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.

Updated 29 October 2026. This Brandy review rests on what we read that day: the Brandy listing on AppSumo, including the plan card, the deal terms, the founder updates, questions and reviews, and Brandy’s own pricing page with every tier and its feature list. We haven’t built a brand space with it, so we describe the plan, the limits and what buyers report, not how fast it loads.

What Brandy does

The listing opens with two questions most designers hear weekly: where’s the logo with a transparent background, and what font are we using? Brandy’s answer is a web page per brand. You create a brand space, set up collections, upload files, and send people a link. The listing says you can also add colour palettes, videos and markdown documentation.

When you send a logo to a printer or a web developer, they usually want a different size or format. That’s the part buyers praise most: exporting. The listing says Brandy can export files “in the right size, color combination and file format,” so you don’t keep dozens of logo variants by hand. A December 2025 reviewer called “the ability to export to different formats” a major differentiator, and a February 2025 reviewer who was otherwise unhappy still called downloading logos in custom sizes “unique and very helpful.”

Brandy’s pricing page lists what every account gets, including the free one: smart exports, colour, gradient and font blocks, CMYK and Pantone colours, a Figma embed, markdown and WYSIWYG text blocks, brand search, asset tags, file previews, embeds and a shareable link. Pro adds private brand spaces, removal of “Powered by Brandy,” and the white-label basics: custom URL, custom branding, custom logo, custom logo link, custom colours and custom navigation. That white-label set is what makes the deal useful to agencies, since a client can open brand.theirdomain.com and see their own logo at the top.

The line most people miss: Pro is a fixed tier

Here’s what most people miss on this deal. The terms promise “All future Brandy Plan updates,” and a lot of buyers read that as every future feature. Brandy’s answer on the listing, dated 29 November 2025, is narrower: it “means all QA fixes and features that we roll out in that tier will be available for appsumo users.” In other words, you get what Pro gets. Anything Brandy places on a higher tier stays there.

And the higher tiers are where the newer features went. Brandy’s own pricing page puts them like this:

  • Business ($35 a month): multi-brand space, bento layouts, sub-collections, feature prioritisation.
  • Agency ($50 a month): white label sharing, custom favicon, custom share image, custom metadata, custom brand space fonts.
  • Premium ($100 a month): portfolio view, password protection, private collections, custom cover page, custom login portal and custom email invites.

Turns out this is the single most common complaint on the listing. In April 2025 one reviewer gave one star, writing that to “even try bento layouts and sub collections” they’d have to pay $350. In August 2025 an early buyer said the original deal had allowed a custom favicon and that it was later taken away; Brandy replied that the favicon “was introduced later on” and is “part of the White Label Sharing features in our Agency plan.” The buyer disagreed. We can’t settle who’s right from the pages we read, but in practice the result is the same: on the AppSumo plan today, a white-label portal shows Brandy’s favicon in the browser tab.

Brandy has also said, on 3 April 2026, that it doesn’t plan to offer Business or Agency tiers as a lifetime deal on AppSumo. If you’ve been waiting for a higher tier to appear, that’s the most recent answer on the page.

The plan and how storage works

PlanPriceIncludes
Brandy (Pro)
Freelancers and small agencies
$49 once Lifetime access to all PRO features, Unlimited assets, users and brand spaces, 10 GB of storage

One-time price on AppSumo for one code; the deal is not stackable. The listing shows $1,050 as its struck-through price. Brandy's own site lists Free $0 (1 brand space, 100MB), Pro $5 a month (1 brand space, 50GB), Business $35 a month (10 brand spaces, 100GB), Agency $50 a month (25, 200GB), Premium $100 a month (50, 300GB) and Unlimited $500 a month, billed 'annually or monthly'.

Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on Brandy’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.

There’s one plan. The card reads, line by line:

  • “Lifetime access to all PRO features”
  • “Unlimited assets”
  • “Unlimited users”
  • “Unlimited brand spaces”
  • “10 GB of storage”

It costs $49 once, for one code, and the terms say “This deal is not stackable.” The listing shows $1,050 as the struck-through price; that’s the listing’s figure, and we didn’t find anything on Brandy’s own page that adds up to it.

The storage line is where we’d slow down. The founder’s July 2021 post on the listing says “our storage limit is applied per brand space,” with unlimited brand spaces, and a July 2025 reviewer describes “10GB of storage per space.” But the card just says “10 GB of storage,” and the May 2024 update from Brandy’s head of customer success answers the storage question differently: if you hit the limit, “you can upgrade to our Business plan for more storage space.” In December 2025 a buyer asked outright whether it’s 10 GB per brand or 10 GB in total. We found no reply to that question. Honestly, don’t buy on the per-brand reading until you’ve seen it confirmed for your own account.

Picking a plan: three worked examples

A freelancer with five clients. If you’ve got five brands to look after, Brandy’s own site puts you on the Business plan, because Pro covers one brand space. That’s $35 a month, or $420 over a year at the monthly rate. The AppSumo code covers all five for $49 once. If each client’s kit is logos, colours, fonts and a few PDFs, storage is unlikely to be the problem; the missing subcollections are.

A small agency with 20 clients. If storage is 10 GB per space, there’s plenty. If it’s 10 GB in total, that’s about 500 MB a client, which is fine for logos and fonts and tight for video or photo libraries. One May 2025 commenter said 10 GB “would be gone for just 1-2 brands” for their agency, so it depends on what you store. In practice, keep large photo and video files in Drive or Dropbox and link to them with markdown, which Brandy confirmed works on 6 May 2026.

One company with one brand. When you only manage your own brand, the maths flips. Brandy’s own Pro plan is $5 a month and lists 50GB of storage, five times the deal’s 10 GB. The free plan gives one brand space, 100MB and 20 assets. If you only manage your own brand, skip the AppSumo code until you’ve outgrown the free plan, and then compare the two Pro offers.

The deal vs Brandy’s own plans

Brandy’s pricing page, read on 29 October 2026:

Brandy’s own planPriceBrand spacesStorage
Free Forever$01100MB, 20 assets
Pro$5 a month150GB
Business$35 a month10100GB
Agency$50 a month25200GB
Premium$100 a month50300GB
Unlimited$500 a monthUnlimited500GB

The page says plans “are billed annually or monthly” but shows only the per-month figure, so we can’t tell you the annual price. The two pages also disagree on what Pro is. Brandy’s own Pro is one brand space with 50GB; the AppSumo plan is described as Pro with unlimited brand spaces and 10 GB. Brandy confirmed on 8 July 2026 that “AppSumo is tied to our Pro plan,” so for AppSumo buyers the listing’s limits are the ones that apply: more brand spaces, less storage, and Pro’s feature set.

What buyers report

The listing shows 4.36 stars from 45 reviews: 31 five-star, 6 four-star, 4 three-star, 1 two-star and 3 one-star. Most of the five-star reviews are from 2021 and 2022, when the deal launched in July 2021. Some people miss that split, and it matters: the more recent ones are mixed.

Agencies like the client portal. A December 2025 reviewer called it “one of the best purchases” they’d made on AppSumo and singled out pointing a client’s domain at a brand space. A July 2025 reviewer said the deal “does not include every feature” but called it “very generous” for the price. A September 2024 reviewer, a designer building client brand centres, said it “delivers the basics.”

The upgrade prompts wear on people. On 7 August 2026 a buyer said that wherever they clicked they got a notice that the feature wasn’t in their plan, and that it made them want a refund. Brandy replied on 18 August 2026 that it’s “working on making plan limitations clearer in the product.” A February 2025 three-star reviewer wrote that they only use Brandy internally because the Brandy favicon and the missing subfolders make a client-facing site look unprofessional.

Support goes through email. Several 2025 replies on the listing say to email becky@brandyhq.com rather than answering in the thread, including a September 2025 question about being asked for a card when redeeming a code. A March 2026 commenter said they were holding off partly because of “delayed responses to questions.” The 2026 replies we read came between 1 and 16 days after each question.

It isn’t abandoned. A 2023 reviewer was “99% sure” the project had been abandoned. It wasn’t: Brandy posted an update in May 2024, moved to brandyhq.com, and its pricing page lists integration posts dated June to August 2026.

The terms

The deal terms read:

  • “Lifetime access to Brandy Plan”
  • “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase”
  • “All future Brandy Plan updates”
  • “Please note: This deal is not stackable”

The guarantee line reads “Not covered by We Got Your Back. Listed by the partner, not reviewed by AppSumo.” The listing also says “Refundable up to 60 days.” Don’t forget that the redemption deadline and the refund window are both 60 days, so a code left unredeemed is also a refund you can’t test for. Lifetime here means the life of the product and the deal as AppSumo describes them; nothing on the page says this listing will stay up.

Brandy vs Brandfolder and Google Drive

The listing names Brandfolder as the alternative. Brandy’s own FAQ says Frontify, Brandfolder and Bynder “often require enterprise contracts costing $500–$2,500 per month.” That’s Brandy’s claim, and we didn’t price Brandfolder for this review. What we can say is that Brandfolder is built for larger teams, and Brandy’s deal is aimed at freelancers and small agencies who want a tidy client page rather than a full asset-management system.

Against Google Drive or Dropbox, the listing’s own argument is exports: picking a size, colour and file format on download instead of keeping every variant. Brandy’s FAQ suggests using it “alongside Drive/Dropbox to store master files,” which matches what buyers do when 10 GB is too small.

Common mistakes with the Brandy deal

Reading “all future updates” as every new feature. Don’t trust that line to cover the paid tiers. Brandy says it means updates rolled out to the Pro tier.

Planning a client portal around a custom favicon. It’s an Agency-plan feature on Brandy’s pricing page.

Expecting subfolders. Sub-collections are on Business and up.

Assuming 10 GB per brand. The founder said so in 2021; a December 2025 question asking for confirmation had no reply when we checked.

Buying two codes. Don’t bother. The terms say the deal is “not stackable.”

Skipping the free plan. Don’t skip it. Brandy’s free plan lets you see the interface before you spend anything, and one July 2026 buyer did exactly that.

Who Brandy suits

A freelance brand designer. Hand every client a branded page with logos, colours and fonts on their domain, for $49 once.

A small agency on a budget. Unlimited brand spaces and users cover a growing client list, if you can live without nested folders.

An in-house team with one brand. Compare Brandy’s own Pro plan first; it lists more storage.

An agency that wants a fully hidden portal. Skip the deal; custom favicon, login portal and email invites are on paid tiers.

How to test it inside the refund window

  1. Redeem quickly. The terms give you 60 days to redeem, and the refund clock runs at the same time.
  2. Build one real client brand space with logos, colours, fonts and a markdown usage page.
  3. Connect a custom domain. When you open it, look at it as a client would, checking the tab icon and the page title.
  4. Upload a realistic load to two brand spaces and watch how the storage meter counts it, per space or in total.
  5. Click through the features you expect to use and note which ones show an upgrade prompt. Honestly, this step tells you more than any review, ours included.

What we couldn’t check

We didn’t build a brand space, export files or connect a domain. We couldn’t confirm whether the 10 GB applies per brand space or to the whole account, because the founder’s 2021 post and the 2024 update read differently and a direct question had no answer. We couldn’t confirm what Brandy’s annual billing costs, since the pricing page shows monthly figures only. And we couldn’t verify the claim that a custom favicon was once part of the deal.

FAQ: Brandy questions

Is Brandy a one-time payment on AppSumo?

Yes. It’s $49 once for one code, and the deal isn’t stackable.

Does the Brandy AppSumo deal include subcollections and bento layouts?

No. Brandy’s pricing page puts both on the Business plan, and buyers report upgrade prompts for them.

Can I use my own domain with Brandy?

Yes. Custom URL, custom logo and custom colours are listed under Pro’s white label features, and Brandy said on 8 July 2026 that you can connect several custom domains to different brand spaces.

Is Brandy’s AppSumo plan refundable?

Yes, up to 60 days, but it’s “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”

The verdict

Turns out the cheap part of this deal is the brand spaces, not the features. For $49 once, Brandy gives you unlimited brand spaces and users with custom domains, which is a fair price for a freelancer or small agency that hands out brand pages. Just buy it for what it is today. The newer features sit on subscriptions, Brandy has said those tiers won’t come to AppSumo, and the storage question needs a straight answer. Don’t forget to test the client view on your own domain before day 60.
