Bottom line: Chaos Control is a personal organizer for goals, projects and tasks, built around ideas from the Getting Things Done method. It runs on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac and syncs between them. AppSumo sells one plan, $99 once, with 3 licences. The plan card lists only the task features. Turns out the founder describes the deal differently on the listing: “3 PRO 10 licenses for the price of one,” which adds 10 GB of cloud storage, a small AI allowance and a few minutes of transcription to each account. Chaos Control’s own site sells one PRO 10 licence forever for the same $99. So the deal is a good price for two or three people, and roughly break-even for one. The listing is “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”
Best for: solo founders, freelancers and households who want a phone-and-desktop task manager with projects, contexts and a capture inbox, paid once.
Think twice if: you want heavy AI use, a browser-first tool, or a shared team workspace out of the box.
We have no affiliate deal with Chaos Control or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.
Updated 29 October 2026. This Chaos Control review rests on what we read that day: the Chaos Control listing on AppSumo, including the plan, the deal terms, the founder’s post, questions and reviews, and Chaos Control’s own purchase page, plus its CC Tokens announcement, Teams page and refund policy. We haven’t installed the app or used its AI, so we describe the plan, the limits and what buyers report, not how it feels day to day.

What Chaos Control does
Chaos Control is a to-do list and project planner for one person’s work and life. The founder, Dmitriy Tarasov, says on the listing that the idea came from reading David Allen’s Getting Things Done while leaving a job to start a business. If you’ve read that book, the structure will look familiar. There’s a Chaos Box, a capture inbox where you drop a task or idea and sort it later. There are projects for large goals, categories (folders) to group them, contexts for where or how a task gets done, and a Daily Plan for what you’re doing today.
The AppSumo plan card lists:
- “Create unlimited number of projects, tasks, contexts and folders”
- “Sync your data across iOS, Android, Windows and Mac”
- “Gain full control of your schedule with features like Daily Plan, Chaos Box and Contexts”
- “Plan complex activities and achieve goals with projects and categories (folders)”
- “Export any list to printable (and shareable PDF)”
The listing’s overview adds native widgets and to-do, checklist and shopping lists. Chaos Control’s own home page goes further: recurring tasks, habit tracking, a Time Tracker, file storage “up to 1 TB” on higher tiers, and an AI assistant that its AI page says runs on a Perplexity model. Buyers on the listing mention recurring tasks, sub-tasks, memos, voice notes and attachments.
The one thing most people miss: what “3 licenses” actually means
Here’s the line most people miss. The plan card says “3 licenses” and lists task features. It says nothing about AI, cloud storage or transcription. The founder’s own post on the listing dates from July 2024 and describes “a lifetime license that can be applied to up to 3 different Chaos Control accounts.” At the time, the deal unlocked the unlimited-tasks tier.
The answers have changed since. In October 2025 the founder wrote that this deal “initially only included our Premium plan,” and that “We’ve upgraded this deal to PRO 10 which gives you 10 of everything: 10 GB of Cloud Storage, 10 AI requests per week and 10 minutes of transcriptions.” In December 2025 they said again that AppSumo buyers were “grandfathered” to PRO 10 for free. And in August 2026, answering a buyer who couldn’t see any AI allowance after buying, the founder confirmed: “So App Sumo deal is 3 PRO 10 licenses for the price of one.” They blamed a billing issue for purchases on 1 and 2 August and asked the buyer to email support to fix the tokens.
So three things are true at once. The deal is three separate accounts, not one account for three people. Each account gets the smallest PRO tier. And the AI and storage parts rest on the founder’s replies, not on the plan card or the deal terms. When you buy, screenshot those replies and check your account shows PRO 10 on day one. Don’t skip this if you’ve bought mainly for the AI.
The plan, and Chaos Control’s own prices
AppSumo has one plan, read on 29 October 2026: Plan 1, $99 once, 1 code, 3 licences. The listing shows $297 struck through; that’s the listing’s figure, which happens to equal three of Chaos Control’s own $99 forever licences. The deal is not stackable, so you can’t buy a second code to get six licences.
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Plan 1 Two or three people |
$99 once |
One-time price on AppSumo, 1 code, not stackable; the listing shows $297 struck through. Chaos Control's own purchase page lists Premium $6.99 a month, $29 a year or $49.99 forever; PRO 10 GB $9.99, $39 or $99 forever; PRO 100 GB $14.99, $79 or $199 forever; PRO 1000 GB $19.99, $99 or $299 forever. Team Workspaces are separate, $450 to $1,650 lifetime.
Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on Chaos Control’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.
Chaos Control’s own purchase page, read the same day:
| Chaos Control’s own plan | 1 month | 1 year | Forever | Storage | AI and transcription (as the page states) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $6.99 | $29 | $49.99 | None | None; no Time Tracker |
| PRO 10 GB | $9.99 | $39 | $99 | 10 GB | 10 AI requests and 10 minutes a week |
| PRO 100 GB | $14.99 | $79 | $199 | 100 GB | 100 requests and 100 minutes a week |
| PRO 1000 GB | $19.99 | $99 | $299 | 1000 GB | 1000 requests and 1000 minutes a week |
Every PRO tier lists “Unlimited tasks and projects” and a Time Tracker. Premium is described as “Unlimited tasks and projects, without Time Tracker, File Storage and AI assistant.”
Picking a plan: four worked examples
One person, light AI. You’d pay $99 for one PRO 10 licence direct, or $99 for three on AppSumo. Same money. The AppSumo version adds a 60-day refund window and two spare accounts you may never use. If you’ve got no use for AI or storage, Chaos Control’s own Premium forever licence is $49.99, about half the deal price. Honestly, a solo buyer who only wants lists should price Premium first.
A couple, or a founder and an assistant. Two PRO 10 licences direct cost $198. AppSumo’s $99 covers both with one to spare. That’s the clearest saving on the page, about $99 when you split it between two people, and the Teams page says PRO users “are not counted toward workspace billing” if you later share a workspace.
Three people. Three PRO 10 licences direct are $297, the listing’s struck price. Three Premium licences direct are $149.97, with no AI, storage or Time Tracker. The deal at $99 beats both, as long as each person is happy with their own separate account.
Someone who leans on the AI. This is where the deal is thin. Under the purchase page’s weekly wording, 10 requests a week comes to roughly 43 a month (10 x 52 / 12). Under the June 2026 CC Tokens rules for licences bought after version 2.15.1, PRO 10 would get 10 tokens a month, and one Perplexity PRO request costs 15 tokens on its own. In practice that means a PRO 10 account can’t run a single Perplexity PRO request in a refresh period, whichever wording applies. If AI is the reason you’re buying, the direct PRO 100 forever licence ($199) is the realistic floor, and we couldn’t confirm any upgrade credit for AppSumo licences.
The CC Tokens change: two pages disagree
Chaos Control’s blog post of 19 June 2026, “Announcing CC Tokens,” replaces separate AI-request and transcription quotas with one unit. A Perplexity request costs 1 token; a Perplexity PRO request or summary costs 15. Licences bought before version 2.15.1 get “double the number of CC Tokens” weekly. For licences bought after it, “the number of available tokens will match the plan name, and tokens will refresh monthly rather than weekly.”
The purchase page we read on 29 October 2026 still says “per week” on every PRO tier. When a buyer pointed out the clash in August, the founder said the purchase page “will be changed later this week to monthly.” Nearly three months later, it hadn’t changed. Neither page says which rule applies to an AppSumo code redeemed today, so don’t forget to ask support before day 60. The same post says tokens will later pay for profile customisation, chat reactions, AI agents and API access, so the 10-token allowance may have to stretch further over time.
What buyers report
The listing shows 4.77 stars from 47 reviews: 42 five-star, 2 four-star, and one each at three, two and one.
People who stick with it like it a lot. A November 2025 reviewer says they’ve used it “for over a year,” have ADHD, and run it on a desktop, laptop, tablet and phone; offline access and sync were what earlier tools lacked for them. An October 2025 reviewer liked “the chaos box for just throwing something in there and sorting it out later.”
There’s a learning curve. Most people don’t read the founder’s replies under each review, but here they carry real detail. A March 2026 reviewer said it “took me a minute to figure out” categories and projects and that “What is lacking for me is clear instructions,” though they rated it highly and tried the AI and voice recording. A June 2026 reviewer praised the interface and asked for dedicated notes; the founder replied, “Notes are coming soon.”
The AI limits caused the one critical review. In December 2025 a three-star reviewer found voice notes counted against both the AI and transcription quotas, “limited to 10 per week each,” and said the interface locked up as if they’d used them all. The founder explained the PRO 10 grandfathering and asked them to email support.
Open questions, dated. A buyer asked on 12 October 2026 whether MCP support and a public API had arrived; two days later another buyer replied, “We are unfortunately still waiting for the MCP,” and said recent releases had focused on team features. We saw no founder answer. A 21 October 2026 question about a countdown timer had no reply yet. Founder answers to the August questions came after a few days to about a month, each opening with an apology for the delay.
The terms
The deal terms read:
- “Lifetime access to Chaos Control”
- “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase”
- “All future plan updates”
- “Please note: This deal is not stackable”
The plan card adds: “Get all further updates and personal-use features for free (exclusive for AppSumo customers).” Note the words “personal-use.” Team Workspaces are sold separately on Chaos Control’s site. The guarantee line reads “Not covered by We Got Your Back. Listed by the partner, not reviewed by AppSumo.” The refund window is still 60 days. The listing has been live since July 2024 and shows no end date, but no AppSumo deal is permanent.
Chaos Control vs Todoist
The listing names Todoist and says Chaos Control “Does the same job for a one-time $99 instead of a subscription.” That’s AppSumo’s line, not ours, and we didn’t price Todoist for this review. What we can say from the pages: Chaos Control is built for one person’s goals and projects, with apps on four platforms. We didn’t see a browser version named on the listing or the home page, which matters if you work on machines where you can’t install apps. Skip the comparison maths until you’ve checked which features you actually use in your current tool.
Teams are a separate purchase
Chaos Control’s Teams page sells workspaces with no per-user pricing. It lists four tiers, Small (up to 5 members) through Large (up to 100), although the text calls them “three simple, straightforward plans.” Lifetime workspace prices run from $450 to $1,650. Personal lifetime PRO users get “a 20% to 40% discount” on a workspace licence by emailing support. A buyer asked in August 2026 whether they could add a guest or client to a project; the founder pointed them to Team Workspaces. If you’ve got a team in mind, budget for a workspace on top of the deal, and ask whether AppSumo PRO 10 licences count as lifetime PRO for that discount.
Common mistakes with the Chaos Control deal
Reading only the plan card. The AI, storage and transcription come from the founder’s replies. Check your account shows PRO 10 after you redeem.
Buying for heavy AI use. Ten requests or tokens is a sampler. A single Perplexity PRO request costs more than that.
Treating 3 licences as a team plan. They’re three separate accounts. Shared workspaces are a separate product.
Planning to stack codes. Don’t bother; the terms say the deal is not stackable.
Expecting a web app. We saw iOS, Android, Windows and Mac named, nothing else.
Missing the redemption window. Codes must be redeemed within 60 days of purchase.
Who Chaos Control suits
A solo founder or freelancer who thinks in projects. Projects, contexts and a capture inbox on phone and desktop, paid once.
A household or a two-person business. Three accounts for the price of one direct PRO 10 licence.
Someone who’s bounced off browser-based tools. The longest review on the listing makes exactly this case.
An AI-first user or a team. Look at the direct PRO 100 tier or a Team Workspace instead.
How to test it inside the refund window
- Try the free version first. The founder’s 2024 post says the app has a free plan; download it from the App Store or Google Play before buying.
- Redeem and check the tier. When you log in, confirm each of the three accounts shows PRO 10 with storage and an AI allowance.
- Ask support which token rule applies, weekly or monthly, and get the answer in writing.
- Install it on every device you use and check sync between phone and desktop.
- Run a real week through it, Chaos Box capture to Daily Plan, and export one list to PDF.
What we couldn’t check
We didn’t install the app, use the AI or test sync. We couldn’t confirm whether an AppSumo code redeemed today gets weekly or monthly tokens, or whether AppSumo licences qualify for upgrade or Teams discounts. The free plan’s limits (75 tasks and/or 10 projects) come from the founder’s July 2024 post; we didn’t find them on Chaos Control’s own pages today. The purchase page we loaded showed its checkout form in Russian, with Russian payment methods; we didn’t test buying direct. Chaos Control’s refund policy, from LLC Sharq IT, covers “all subscriptions”; it doesn’t say how forever licences bought direct are treated.
FAQ: Chaos Control questions
Is Chaos Control a one-time payment on AppSumo?
Yes. Plan 1 is $99 once, read on 29 October 2026, for 3 licences, refundable up to 60 days.
Does the AppSumo deal include Chaos Control AI?
Per the founder’s August 2026 answer, yes: the deal is “3 PRO 10 licenses,” and PRO 10 includes a small AI and transcription allowance and 10 GB of storage. The plan card itself doesn’t mention AI.
Can three people share one Chaos Control deal?
Three people can each have their own account. It’s three licences for “up to 3 different Chaos Control accounts,” not a shared team workspace.
Can I stack Chaos Control codes for more licences?
No. The terms say “This deal is not stackable.”
The verdict
Chaos Control is a well-rated, GTD-style organizer from a small team that answers questions, if sometimes slowly. The deal is plainly good for two or three people, who get PRO 10 accounts for a third of the direct price. For one person it’s about even with buying direct, and Premium at $49.99 is cheaper if you don’t need storage or AI. The catch is that the AI allowance is tiny and its rules are in flux. Honestly, in practice the safe way to read this deal is simple: buy it for the task manager, treat the AI as a bonus, and settle the token question with support inside 60 days.
