Bottom line: FlexClip is a browser-based video editor built around templates, stock media and a growing set of AI tools. On AppSumo, it sells for one payment of $99, $198 or $297. Plan 1 suits anyone making social clips and web videos in 1080p. Plan 2 adds 4K, unlimited stock per project and more storage. Plan 3 is identical to Plan 2 except for one row: more AI credits. The listing is covered by AppSumo’s “We Got Your Back” guarantee and is refundable up to 60 days. The one thing to read twice is how the AI credits work, because the listing doesn’t say whether they renew.
Best for: marketers, small businesses and creators who make short videos often and would rather not subscribe.
Think twice if: you edit long, complex projects on a desktop timeline, or you mainly want AI video generation and nothing else.
We have no affiliate deal with FlexClip or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.
Updated 29 October 2026. This FlexClip review rests on two pages we read that day: the FlexClip listing on AppSumo and FlexClip’s own pricing page. We haven’t produced a campaign in it, so we describe what each plan includes and what the terms promise, not how the editor feels after months of use. If you’ve used Canva’s video tools or Kapwing, you’ll recognise the template-first approach.

What FlexClip is, in plain terms
FlexClip is a video editor that runs in your browser. You start from a template or a blank project, drop in your own clips or stock footage, add text, music and transitions, and export. On top of that sits a set of AI tools. FlexClip’s pricing page lists background removal, text to speech, auto subtitles, video scripts, a video generator, text to image, translation and image to image, all paid for with AI credits.
The listing says the company started in 2006 and is based in Hong Kong, with 51 to 200 staff, and it describes the business as bootstrapped. That’s a longer track record than many products on AppSumo, and for a lifetime deal, it counts. A tool you’ve paid for once is only as good as the team that keeps it running. On the day we checked, the listing showed 508 reviews averaging 4.6, and 16,657 purchases; those are AppSumo’s figures.
What every lifetime plan includes
Some things don’t change between plans. According to the plan cards, all three include:
- No FlexClip watermark on your exports.
- Commercial use rights, so you can use the videos for a business.
- A brand kit and custom fonts, for keeping videos on brand.
- Premium resources from FlexClip’s library.
- Unlimited video length, and unlimited projects saved online.
The cards also tick a line called “Reseller rights,” without explaining what it covers. Honestly, we wouldn’t build a client business on that tick alone; ask FlexClip what it means in writing before you rely on it.
Plan 1, Plan 2 and Plan 3: where they differ
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Plan 1 Social and web video |
$99 once |
| Plan 2 4K and heavy stock use |
$198 once |
| Plan 3 Heavy AI use |
$297 once |
One-time prices on AppSumo, where up to 3 codes stack; Plan 2 and Plan 3 cost two and three times Plan 1. FlexClip's own Plus and Business subscriptions are billed at $143.88 and $239.88 a year.
Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on FlexClip’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.
Here’s the comparison that matters, row by row, from the AppSumo plan cards.
Plan 1 ($99). Downloads up to 1080p Full HD. Five stock videos or audio tracks per project. 30 GB of cloud storage and 100 GB of video hosting space. Up to 100 saved templates. 3,000 AI credits.
Plan 2 ($198). Downloads up to 4K. Unlimited stock videos and audio per project. 100 GB of cloud storage and 1 TB of hosting. Up to 200 saved templates. 7,000 AI credits.
Plan 3 ($297). Everything in Plan 2, with 12,000 AI credits instead of 7,000.
So the jump from Plan 2 to Plan 3 buys 5,000 more AI credits, and nothing else on the card. When you rarely touch the AI tools, Plan 3 makes no sense. When you lean on them every week, it might, but only once you know what the credits are worth to you, which is the next section.
The jump from Plan 1 to Plan 2 is about output and stock. The 5-per-project stock limit on Plan 1 is the line most people miss. A 60-second promo stitched from stock clips can use more than five on its own. If your videos are mostly your own footage, Plan 1 is fine. If you build them from the library, Plan 2 is the realistic starting point.
How the AI credits work
This is the part of the FlexClip lifetime deal to read slowly.
The plan cards list 3,000, 7,000 or 12,000 AI credits. They don’t say “per month” or “per year.” The deal terms describe them as a “credit limit”: “20% Of credit limits available during 60-day refund window. After that, the remainder of credits will be dispersed.” That reads like a fixed pool, released in two stages. One buyer review on the listing describes it the same way, as “a lifetime supply (and can top up any time).” We couldn’t find a line from FlexClip that says whether the pool ever refills or expires, so treat it as a fixed amount unless FlexClip tells you otherwise.
For comparison, FlexClip’s own subscriptions list their credits by the year: 3,600 AI credits a year with Plus and 9,600 with Business. And when credits run out, FlexClip sells packs. The smallest is 300 credits for $14.99; the largest, 2,500 for $54.99. One-time packs are valid for 365 days from purchase, and FlexClip’s FAQ answers “Does the AI Credits Package support refunds?” with “No, it doesn’t.”
Two practical points follow. First, during your 60-day refund window you get only 20% of your credits, so on Plan 1 that’s 600. Test the AI tools you care about with those. Second, we couldn’t find how many credits each AI tool uses on the pages we read, so do the counting yourself: run your usual job once, note what it cost, and multiply by a normal month.
FlexClip lifetime deal vs subscribing
FlexClip’s own Plus plan is billed at $143.88 a year, and Business at $239.88. Plan 1 costs $99 once. If you’d otherwise subscribe to Plus, the deal pays for itself before the first year ends. That’s simple arithmetic, and it turns out to be the strongest argument for the deal.
What the subscription gives you that the deal may not is a credit allowance that comes back every year. When you’re a heavy AI user, that difference matters more than the price of the editor. When you mostly edit, cut and caption, the lifetime plan is the better buy.
The terms, line by line
The deal terms on the listing say:
- “All future Plus (Tier 1) and Business (Tiers 2&3) Plan updates.” Updates to those plans are included.
- “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase.” Don’t forget to redeem early.
- “Stack up to 3 codes.” Plan 2 and Plan 3 cost two and three times Plan 1.
- “Available for new FlexClip users and returning AppSumo purchasers.”
- “Previous AppSumo customers will be grandfathered into any new features and feature limits.”
Earlier buyers get their own instructions too. The terms explain how pre-2025 (“V1”) codes move up to the current tiers by stacking, and give an email address for anyone who’d rather upgrade inside the old structure.
The listing also carries AppSumo’s “We Got Your Back” line and says the product was “Carefully selected by AppSumo for quality, performance, and support.” Many listings print the opposite: that AppSumo hasn’t vetted the product. FlexClip’s doesn’t.
Who FlexClip suits
A small business making weekly social clips. Plan 1 covers it, provided your clips are mostly your own footage. Don’t skip the stock count; five per project is the real limit.
A marketer building promos from stock footage. Start at Plan 2. Unlimited stock per project and 4K downloads are what you’re paying for.
A creator who wants AI voiceovers and subtitles on everything. Use the refund window to measure what your normal week costs in credits. If the pool looks thin, compare Plan 3 with a FlexClip subscription before deciding.
An editor who lives in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. FlexClip isn’t trying to replace those, and one buyer review on the listing says as much about using it for quick edits instead. Buy it as the fast tool, not the main one.
How to test it inside the refund window
- Redeem the code the day you buy. The refund window and the 60-day redemption clock run together.
- Rebuild a video you’ve already made, from your real footage, and export it at the resolution you’ll actually publish.
- Count the stock clips you used. On Plan 1, the limit is five per project.
- Spend some of your 20% credit allowance on the AI tools you’ll use most, and note the cost per job.
- Decide before day 60. In practice, one finished video tells you more than an afternoon of clicking around.
What we couldn’t check
We read the listing and the pricing page. We didn’t measure export speed, test the editor on long projects, or time support replies. We couldn’t confirm what “Reseller rights” covers, or whether the AI credit pool refills. When those matter to your business, ask FlexClip in writing during the refund window.
FAQ: FlexClip questions
Is FlexClip a one-time payment on AppSumo?
Yes. Plan 1 is $99, Plan 2 $198 and Plan 3 $297, each paid once, with future Plus and Business plan updates included.
What’s the difference between FlexClip Plan 2 and Plan 3?
Only the AI credits: 7,000 on Plan 2 and 12,000 on Plan 3. Every other row on the plan cards is the same.
Do FlexClip’s lifetime AI credits renew?
The listing doesn’t say. The terms call them a credit limit, with 20% available during the refund window and the rest afterwards.
Does FlexClip have a free plan?
Yes. FlexClip’s own Free plan exports in 720p and includes a free trial of its AI features.
Is the FlexClip deal refundable?
Yes, up to 60 days on AppSumo, and the listing is covered by AppSumo’s “We Got Your Back” guarantee.
The verdict
FlexClip is a sensible lifetime deal for people who make short videos often: a mature editor from a company with a long history, no watermark, commercial rights, and a price that undercuts one year of its own subscription. Pick the plan by your stock use and your resolution, not by the credit number, and treat the AI credits as a fixed pool until FlexClip says otherwise. Plan 1 for your own footage, Plan 2 for stock-heavy work, and Plan 3 only when you’ve measured your AI use and know you need it.
