FlyMSG review: a text expander with AI, for the price of one year

FlyMSG is a Chrome and Edge text expander with AI writing and LinkedIn commenting, sold for $69 once on AppSumo. It matches FlyMSG's own Growth plan, which costs $66 a year. Activation is manual, and Safari isn't listed.

Bottom line: FlyMSG is a browser extension that expands short codes into full messages, with an AI writer and LinkedIn commenting and post tools on top. On AppSumo it sells one Single plan for $69 once. Line it up against FlyMSG’s own pricing page and the feature list matches its Growth plan almost line for line: 30 AI prompts a day, unlimited snippets and templates, all fonts and media. Growth is billed at $66 a year per user. So the lifetime deal pays for itself in roughly a year, if you’d otherwise pay for Growth. Two things to know first: activation is manual, by emailing support with your code, and FlyMSG’s own pricing table lists a browser extension “for Edge and Chrome,” not Safari. The listing is “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”

Best for: salespeople, recruiters and support agents who type the same messages all day in Chrome or Edge, especially on LinkedIn.

Think twice if: you work in Safari or desktop apps, need more than 30 AI prompts a day, or want to import TextExpander snippets with their triggers.

We have no affiliate deal with FlyMSG or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.

Updated 29 October 2026. This FlyMSG review rests on what we read that day: the FlyMSG listing on AppSumo, including the plan, deal terms, questions and recent reviews, and FlyMSG’s own pricing page on vengreso.com, where flymsg.io now redirects. We haven’t typed with it for a month, so we describe the plan, the limits and what buyers report, not how many hours it saves you.

What FlyMSG does

FlyMSG has three parts, all inside one browser extension.

A text expander. You save a snippet, which FlyMSG calls a FlyCut, with a short code. Type the code in any web app and the full text appears: an address, an email reply, an interview question, a form answer. One buyer put it simply: “I type a few characters and the rest fills in automatically.”

Templates. FlyPlates are ready-made messages, and the listing says there are “over 400” of them for sales, recruiting and service messages.

AI writing. The AI writer drafts and rewrites text wherever you type. FlyEngage writes LinkedIn comments, which the listing says supports “39 major languages.” FlyPosts drafts LinkedIn posts from inside LinkedIn’s “Start a Post” box.

The listing names Chrome, Google Workspace, LinkedIn, Outlook and Sales Navigator as integrations.

The $69 plan vs FlyMSG’s own Growth plan

We put the AppSumo plan card next to FlyMSG’s pricing page. The Single plan’s list (unlimited FlyPlates, unlimited FlyCuts, unlimited characters per FlyCut, unlimited categories, “Up to 30/prompts per day,” all font sizes and styles, enhanced styling, all media, “Greater file storage and retention,” all languages) is the Growth column on FlyMSG’s own page, nearly word for word.

One user
$69 once Unlimited FlyCuts and FlyPlates, Up to 30 AI prompts a day, FlyEngage and FlyPosts for LinkedIn

One plan on AppSumo, not stackable. FlyMSG's own pricing page lists Freemium (free, 5 prompts a day), Starter ($27 a year per user), Growth ($66 a year per user, 30 prompts a day) and Sales Pro ($132 a year per user, 70 prompts a day), billed annually.

Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on FlyMSG’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.

From FlyMSG’s pricing page, read on 29 October 2026:

PlanPriceAI prompts a dayFlyCuts
FreemiumFree520
Starter$27 a year per user10300
Growth$66 a year per user30Unlimited
Sales Pro$132 a year per user70Unlimited

The Growth plan also lists 20 GB of media storage and 20 MB image uploads. The AppSumo card doesn’t put a number on storage; it just says “Greater file storage and retention,” which is the Growth wording.

The listing shows the $69 price against a struck-through $1,297.93. That figure isn’t on FlyMSG’s pricing page, and against Growth at $66 a year it’s hard to see where it comes from. Honestly, the useful comparison is the one above: about one year of Growth, paid once.

The limits to know

30 AI prompts a day. It’s enough for a few rewrites and comments every working day. When you lean on FlyEngage to comment on dozens of posts, you’ll hit it. Sales Pro at 70 a day isn’t part of the deal.

Chrome and Edge. FlyMSG’s comparison table lists a “Browser Extension for Edge and Chrome.” In October 2026 a buyer asked on the listing whether it works in Safari, Mac Pages or Mac Mail; we found no answer from the team. If you’ve built your day around Safari, don’t buy on hope.

TextExpander import. In July 2026 a buyer asked whether the import wizard pulls TextExpander snippets directly. The founder’s answer: “CSV upload/download.” The same reply said variables, a TextExpander feature, are “coming.” So switching means exporting, reformatting and re-importing.

Not stackable. One code, one user. There’s no team plan in the deal.

Activation is manual

This is the part most people miss, and the listing’s questions show it. Buying the code doesn’t upgrade your account by itself. Buyers describe emailing support with the account email and the AppSumo code, and one wrote that activation was described as taking “2 business days.”

Three buyers between February and September 2026 said they had emailed and waited without hearing back. The team’s replies said every ticket had been answered, and that the email may have been sent to the wrong address or caught as spam. The address the team gives is written out as “hey support at vengreso dot com.” So if you buy, send the email the same day, check the spelling, and confirm on the listing if a few days pass with no reply.

What buyers report

The 83 reviews average 4.52 stars. The recent ones agree on the core and split on the extras.

The expander is the value. A July 2026 review called it “a great time saving system” for addresses, intros and CRM notes. Another buyer uses it in Outlook on the web and inside ChatGPT for saved prompts.

The AI comments can read as AI. One buyer stopped using LinkedIn commenting because the comments “seemed ‘obviously AI’.” The team replied that the tool had been upgraded “at least four times” since and suggested setting up a persona so it writes in your voice.

Setup takes some care. A buyer noted that “there’s some configuration you need to get right” so auto-correct features don’t take over. Another found it got “in the way” on some forms and planned to revisit the setup.

The terms

The deal terms read:

  • “Lifetime access to FlyMSG.io”
  • “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase”
  • “All future plan updates”
  • “Please note: This deal is not stackable”

“All future plan updates” is broader wording than most deals we’ve read, which usually tie updates to one named plan. That’s in the buyer’s favour, though it doesn’t say the deal moves up to Sales Pro’s 70 prompts.

FlyMSG vs TextExpander and Grammarly

The listing names Grammarly and TextExpander as alternatives. Against TextExpander, FlyMSG matches the core idea of short codes that expand, and adds AI and LinkedIn tools; the founder concedes TextExpander has variables that FlyMSG doesn’t yet. TextExpander also has desktop apps, while FlyMSG’s pricing page lists only a browser extension. Against Grammarly, FlyMSG includes a grammar checker, FlyGrammar, but grammar is a side feature here, not the product. Pick FlyMSG when your writing happens in the browser and repeats a lot.

Common mistakes with the FlyMSG deal

Not emailing support after buying. The code alone doesn’t upgrade you. Most people miss this, then wonder why they’re still on the free plan.

Buying for Safari. The extension is listed for Chrome and Edge. Check before you pay.

Expecting a snippet import with triggers. It’s a CSV. Plan an afternoon to rebuild your shortcuts when you’re moving from TextExpander.

Planning on 70 prompts. The deal is 30 a day, the Growth limit.

Leaving AI comments unedited. If you’ve ever spotted an AI comment on LinkedIn, so can your buyers. Set up the persona and edit before posting.

Missing the 60-day redemption window. Redeem the code the day you buy it.

Who FlyMSG suits

A salesperson on LinkedIn. The expander, FlyEngage and FlyPosts all aim at you. Thirty prompts a day covers moderate use.

A recruiter or support agent. Unlimited FlyCuts for replies and interview questions is the core value.

A Mac user in Safari. Skip it unless support confirms Safari in writing.

A team. The deal is one user and not stackable; look at FlyMSG’s own team pricing instead.

How to test it inside the refund window

  1. Email support with your code on the day you buy, and note how long activation takes.
  2. Build ten FlyCuts from messages you sent last week.
  3. Use them in your real tools for a week: Gmail or Outlook on the web, your CRM, LinkedIn.
  4. Write five LinkedIn comments with FlyEngage and edit each one.
  5. Count your AI prompts on a busy day against the 30 limit.

What we couldn’t check

We didn’t use FlyMSG day to day, measure time saved or test the AI quality. We couldn’t confirm Safari support, because the October 2026 question about it had no answer on the listing. We couldn’t find the source of the $1,297.93 figure. Ask about all of these before day 60.

FAQ: FlyMSG questions

Is FlyMSG a one-time payment on AppSumo?

Yes. One Single plan for $69, not stackable. It matches FlyMSG’s own Growth plan, billed at $66 a year per user.

How many AI prompts does the FlyMSG lifetime deal include?

Up to 30 prompts a day, the same as FlyMSG’s Growth plan.

Does FlyMSG work in Safari?

FlyMSG’s pricing page lists a browser extension for Edge and Chrome. A Safari question on the listing had no answer when we checked.

How do I activate FlyMSG after buying on AppSumo?

Buyers describe emailing FlyMSG support with their account email and AppSumo code; activation can take a couple of business days.

The verdict

FlyMSG is a capable text expander for browser work, with AI and LinkedIn tools on top, and $69 once for what FlyMSG sells as a $66-a-year plan is a sound deal if you’d use it for more than a year. The weak points are around the product, not in it: manual activation that has left some buyers waiting, no listed Safari support, a 30-prompt AI ceiling and no AppSumo guarantee. Activate on day one and test it in your real tools.
