Produktly review: unlimited widgets, but count your seats and triggers first

Produktly bundles product tours, checklists, feedback widgets, changelogs and roadmaps for web apps. AppSumo sells it from $79 once, with 10,000 triggers a month and 1 admin per first code. How the limits stack, and what buyers say about support.

Bottom line: Produktly is a Finnish digital adoption suite you add to a web app with one JavaScript snippet. It covers product tours, onboarding checklists, smart tips, announcements, feedback widgets, changelogs, roadmaps, NPS widgets and micro surveys. On AppSumo, one code costs $79 once and every plan, from 1 to 10 codes, includes unlimited tours, checklists and widgets. The limits sit elsewhere: each code adds 10,000 triggers and 200,000 roadmap and announcement views a month, and the first code carries just 1 admin. Produktly’s own plans start at 19€ a month. The listing is “Not covered by We Got Your Back,” and it’s refundable for 60 days.

Best for: SaaS founders, solo builders and small product teams who want tours, checklists and a public changelog without a monthly bill.

Think twice if: you need a native mobile SDK, several teammates on one code, or support with a guaranteed response time.

Updated 29 October 2026. This Produktly review rests on what we read that day: the Produktly listing on AppSumo, including all ten plans, the deal terms, founder updates, questions and reviews, and Produktly’s own pricing page with its plan table and FAQ, plus its about page. We haven’t installed it on an app, so we describe the plans, the limits and what buyers report, not how tours look or load.

What Produktly does

Produktly sits on top of your own web app. You paste a script into your site’s head, then build widgets in Produktly’s no-code editor or with its Chrome extension, which lets you click through your own pages and place tour steps where they belong. Targeting rules decide who sees what: URL, location, language, device type, screen size, and any custom attribute you send through its `.identifyUser()` function. The founder added that segmentation engine in September 2022, according to a dated update on the listing.

The AppSumo plan cards list seven widget types, all unlimited:

  • Product tours that walk a new user through your interface step by step.
  • Checklists for onboarding tasks, with progress tracked per user.
  • Smart tips, the small hints that sit next to a button or field.
  • Announcements for launches, banners and notices.
  • Feedback widgets to collect comments in context.
  • Changelogs for release notes.
  • Roadmaps, a public board where users can request and follow features.

The founder’s updates add more. October 2024 lists NPS widgets, saying new features “are and have been included in the lifetime plan.” December 2024 announced micro surveys, which can pop up after a user clicks a button or finishes a flow. February 2026 brought localization inside each widget, expanded themes and custom CSS for all widgets, custom fonts, a WordPress plugin, custom domains for roadmaps, keyboard-only accessibility and AI features that analyse feedback and draft changelog posts. Produktly’s pricing page notes those AI features have “credits sold separately,” so don’t expect them to be free just because the plan is.

The pricing FAQ also answers a few practical questions. Produktly works on multiple websites and domains “with no limits,” supports single-page apps, and adapts to mobile browsers. It does not support native mobile apps, though it says webviews and PWAs work.

Most people miss this: one code is one seat

Here’s the line that matters most for teams. The first code on AppSumo includes “1 admin.” Plan 2, two codes for $158, lists 5 admins. From there each extra code adds 5 more, up to 45 admins on Plan 10.

Honestly, this is tighter than Produktly’s own cheapest subscription. The vendor’s Developer plan at 19€ a month includes 3 team members; Startup at 59€ includes 20. So a single code is a solo licence. If you’ve got even one colleague who writes release notes, skip the one-code plan.

A buyer raised exactly this on 8 October 2026. They needed teammates to write changelog posts without being admins. The founder, Olli, replied the same day that “every code stacked on top of that adds 5 more admin seats,” and later that Produktly doesn’t split “team seats” and “admin seats”: “seat is a seat.” When the buyer asked about permission levels, the founder confirmed “we have different roles you can assign to users.” So you can limit what a teammate can do, but each one still uses a seat.

There’s a small mismatch here. The plan cards show 5 admins on two codes, which is 4 more than one code, while the founder’s wording suggests each stacked code adds 5. The plan cards are what you buy, so plan on 5.

A second line also reads oddly. Every plan card says “If you purchase 25 or more codes, you will get prioritized customer support,” but the listing’s largest plan is 10 codes. We couldn’t see any way to reach 25 on the page, so treat prioritized support as out of reach for AppSumo buyers unless the founder tells you otherwise.

Plans and how the limits stack

All ten plans carry the same features and the same terms; only the codes, price and seats change. Prices as read on 29 October 2026:

AppSumo planCodesPrice onceListing’s “was” priceTriggers a monthViews a monthAdmins
1 Code1$79$90010,000200,0001
Plan 22$158$1,80020,000400,0005

Plan 1010$790$9,000100,0002,000,00045

When you stack codes, seats, triggers and views all rise together; nothing else changes. Plans 6 to 9 follow the same pattern: $474, $553, $632 and $711, with 25, 30, 35 and 40 admins. The trigger and view columns are our multiplication of the listing’s “Each code stacked” lines.

One-time prices on AppSumo, read 29 October 2026: $79 per code, from 1 code to 10 codes ($790, 45 admins); triggers and views stack per code. Produktly's own site lists Developer 19 euro, Startup 59 euro and Growth 199 euro a month (16, 50 or 166 euro a month billed yearly), each with a 14-day free trial.

Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on Produktly’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.

What counts as a trigger

The trigger limit is the one that decides whether your widgets keep running. Produktly’s pricing FAQ counts one trigger when a user starts a product tour, resumes one, completes a step of a checklist, submits feedback, submits a feature request through the roadmap, reads a changelog post “that’s at most one week old,” or sees a smart tip.

And here’s what happens if you go over, in the FAQ’s words: “We will ask you to upgrade your plan, or unpublish features. If you exceed the quota significantly, and don’t upgrade, we will stop serving the features for the rest of the month until your quota resets.” That FAQ is written for monthly plans. We found nothing on the listing that treats lifetime codes differently, so assume it applies, and don’t forget the only “upgrade” open to a lifetime buyer is stacking more codes while the deal is live.

Worked examples: picking a plan

A solo founder with 300 sign-ups a month. Each new user starts a five-step tour once and works through a four-step checklist. That’s 300 tour starts plus 1,200 checklist steps, so 1,500 triggers. Add 600 changelog reads and 50 feedback submissions and you’re near 2,150 a month. One code at $79 covers it with room for growth, and the single seat is fine when you’re the only one building.

A small SaaS with 1,500 sign-ups a month and three people on the team. Tours alone are 1,500 starts, and say 300 resumes. A six-step checklist completed by most users adds up to 9,000. That’s about 10,800 triggers before anyone reads a changelog, which is over one code’s 10,000. Turns out the seat count settles this anyway: three people need Plan 2, which also doubles triggers to 20,000 for $158.

An app that leans on smart tips. Suppose 4,000 active users each see three smart tips in a month. If every view counts, that’s 12,000 triggers from tips alone. The FAQ says a trigger is counted when a user “sees a smart tip,” but it doesn’t say whether seeing the same tip twice counts twice. If you’ve got a busy app, ask support before you scatter tips across every page.

In practice, count your monthly active users, multiply by the steps they’ll complete, and buy one code above that figure. Codes can only be stacked while this listing is up.

The deal vs Produktly’s own plans

Produktly’s own pricing page, read on 29 October 2026, offers a 14-day free trial on every plan:

Produktly’s own planMonthlyBilled yearlyTriggers a monthViews a monthTeam members
Developer19€16€ a month2,00050,0003
Startup59€50€ a month7,500200,00020
Growth199€166€ a month50,000+1,000,000+50+

The page itself says 19€, 59€ and 199€ are “about $21, $66 and $223 at the October 2026 exchange rate.” Developer also caps widgets (5 product tours, 2 checklists, 1 roadmap) and shows a “Powered by Produktly” footer. Startup caps roadmaps at 5, feedback widgets at 10 and changelogs at 5.

Line them up. One AppSumo code gives 10,000 triggers and 200,000 views a month, with unlimited widgets of every type and “Your own branding.” On triggers and widgets that’s more than Startup; on seats it’s fewer than Developer. The deal terms promise “All future Produktly Plan updates,” which doesn’t name any of the three vendor plans, so we can’t map the code to one of them. Image storage (500 MB, 2 GB or unlimited on the vendor plans) isn’t mentioned on the AppSumo cards either. Honestly, neither gap is a reason to walk away, but ask the founder about both if they matter to you.

What buyers report

The listing shows 4.08 stars from 39 reviews, and the reviews split sharply by date.

Mid-2025: a run of good reviews. In August 2025 one buyer wrote that support was “fixing or updating issues almost instantly.” Another bought one code and returned “a few days later” for 7 more. A July 2025 reviewer who previously used UserGuiding called Produktly “on par with that,” but gave 4 stars for “slow support” after three unanswered chat messages. The founder replied that the tickets had been answered and might be in spam.

October and November 2025: a run of one-star reviews. Five buyers in about six weeks reported no reply from support. One said the builder needed constant refreshing and called the styling “very basic.” Another wrote “Cant get through to company for over 3 weeks.” The founder’s replies came on 18 November 2025, saying Produktly “is running as usual” and asking each buyer to email support@produktly.com.

2026: good reviews again. A February 2026 buyer who bought “in early 2024” said it “delivered what was promised” and support answered “in a timely fashion.” A March 2026 reviewer said they’d “always received a response within 24 to 48 hours.” A May 2026 video review from Mexico praised tracking which identified users had run a tour.

Old questions answered late. On 23 October 2026 the founder answered questions from 2022 and 2023, including how to guide users across two apps (separate tours linked by a redirect step and a URL parameter). Most people miss how long some of those waited: more than four years in one case. Honestly, we can’t tell from the pages whether the late-2025 gap was a one-off.

A GDPR argument. A buyer who asked for a data processing agreement in October 2025 got a reply in October 2026 pointing to produktly.com/dpa. On 26 October 2026 they argued that the standard contractual clauses needed a completed appendix for any US transfers. We’re not lawyers and didn’t read the DPA; if you’re in the EU, have someone check it.

The terms

The deal terms read:

  • “Lifetime access to Produktly Plan”
  • “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase”
  • “All future Produktly Plan updates”

The guarantee line reads “Not covered by We Got Your Back. Listed by the partner, not reviewed by AppSumo.” The listing says “Refundable up to 60 days.” There’s no “stack up to” line in the terms; the ten plans themselves stop at 10 codes.

Produktly vs Appcues, Pendo, WalkMe and Canny

The listing names Appcues, Canny, Pendo and WalkMe as alternatives, and says it “does the same job for a one-time price.” We didn’t price or read any of those four for this review, so we can’t compare their features, limits or prices. Produktly’s pitch, in the founder’s October 2026 words, is that “most competitors have just some subset of these.” Whether one tool doing all of it beats two tools doing parts better is a call only your team can make.

Common mistakes with the Produktly deal

Buying one code for a team. One code is one admin. Three people need Plan 2.

Ignoring the trigger maths. Checklist steps and smart tip views each count. Do the sums before checkout.

Expecting prioritized support. It needs 25 codes, and the plans stop at 10. Turns out no listed plan qualifies.

Planning on free AI features. The vendor’s page says AI credits are sold separately.

Building for a native mobile app. There’s no native SDK; webviews and PWAs only.

Skipping the support test. Don’t skip this one. Send a question in week one, given the late-2025 reviews.

Who Produktly suits

A solo SaaS founder. One code covers tours, a checklist, a changelog and a roadmap for one builder.

A small product team. Plan 2 or 3, for 5 or 10 seats and 20,000 or 30,000 triggers.

An agency with client portals. One 2022 reviewer used it inside client portals built on another tool.

A mobile-first product. Skip it.

How to test it inside the refund window

  1. Redeem your codes on day one, since one 2025 buyer’s codes first showed as invalid.
  2. Install the snippet or WordPress plugin on a staging copy of your app.
  3. Build one tour and one checklist with the Chrome extension, using your real targeting rules.
  4. Watch the trigger counter for a week of real traffic and project it to a month.
  5. Email support with a real question and time the reply before day 60.

What we couldn’t check

We didn’t install Produktly, build tours or measure load times. We couldn’t confirm which vendor plan “Produktly Plan” maps to, whether lifetime codes include image storage, whether repeat smart tip views count as new triggers, or how a buyer could reach the 25 codes for prioritized support. The listing doesn’t show a “bought” count. Settle the open points with the founder before day 60.

FAQ: Produktly questions

Is Produktly a one-time payment on AppSumo?

Yes. It’s $79 per code once, from 1 code to 10 codes ($790), as read on 29 October 2026.

How many team members does the Produktly lifetime deal include?

One admin on a single code, 5 on two codes, then 5 more per extra code. The founder says every seat counts the same, with roles to limit access.

What happens when I run out of Produktly triggers?

The pricing FAQ says Produktly asks you to upgrade or unpublish, and if you exceed the quota significantly it stops serving features until the monthly reset.

Does Produktly work on mobile apps?

On mobile browsers, PWAs and webviews, yes. Native mobile apps aren’t supported, per Produktly’s own FAQ.

The verdict

Produktly packs a lot into $79: unlimited tours, checklists, changelogs, roadmaps and widgets, with more trigger headroom per code than Produktly’s own 59€ Startup plan. The catch is that seats and triggers both scale only by stacking codes, a single code is one person, and the support record has a rough patch in late 2025 that 2026 reviewers say has passed. For a solo founder it’s an easy test inside the 60-day window. For a team, budget for Plan 2 at least, and judge support for yourself before day 60.
