Bottom line: SmatLeads is a lead-finding tool for agencies and freelancers who sell to local businesses. You type a keyword and a location, it pulls businesses from Google Business Profile, Bing Places and LinkedIn, and then it helps you reach them with SEO reports, an AI writer, a CRM and, on higher plans, email sending. AppSumo sells five plans, from $69 to $345 once. The detail most people miss is how credits turn into leads: the founder says on the listing that “each lead consumes 5 credits,” so Plan 1’s 5,000 monthly credits are up to 1,000 leads a month. Plan 1 also has no built-in email sender; that starts at Plan 2. Reviews are split, with strong praise and a cluster of 2026 complaints about search volume and slow support. The listing is “Not covered by We Got Your Back,” but it is refundable for 60 days.
Best for: web designers, SEO freelancers and small agencies who prospect local businesses and want leads, audit reports and outreach copy in one place for a one-time price.
Think twice if: you need large volumes of verified B2B contacts with job-title filters, or you can’t tolerate a small vendor’s support delays.
We have no affiliate deal with SmatLeads or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.
Updated 29 October 2026. This SmatLeads review rests on what we read that day: the SmatLeads listing on AppSumo, including all five plans, the deal terms, the founder’s updates, questions and reviews, and the SmatLeads homepage on smatleads.io with its pricing and FAQ. We haven’t run searches or sent campaigns, so we describe the plans, the limits and what buyers report, not lead quality.

What SmatLeads does
The workflow is simple to describe. You enter a keyword and a location, such as “dentist” and a city, and SmatLeads returns local businesses with contact details, website links and ratings. The listing says it pulls “from multiple premium data sources, including Google Places, Bing Places, and LinkedIn,” then analyses each business “to extract verified emails, phone numbers, technology insights, and opportunity signals.”
Around that search sit the tools you’d use to pitch those businesses:
- Reports: business optimisation reports, SEO reports and website audit or accessibility reports, with report customisation so they carry your branding.
- Writing: Marvis AI, described as an “AI writing assistant.” The vendor’s site says it has “80+ Templates” for cold emails, follow-ups, ads and proposals.
- Managing leads: a CRM, lead management and export to CSV or PDF.
- Outreach (Plan 2 and up): “Contact leads (built-in email sender),” mailing accounts and monthly cold-calling campaigns.
- Languages: “Over 100 languages supported.”
The founder’s updates add context. In April 2026 the team announced they had “rebuilt SmatLeads completely,” adding email verification, SMS sending and automation, and a unified inbox. In June 2026 they told buyers that version 2.0 lives at app.smatleads.io and “requires a one-time password reset before your first login.” An earlier update, from May 2025, announced an integration that pushes leads into SalesBlink.
The credit maths most people miss
Here’s the part most people miss. The plan cards list “credits per month for GBP, Bing, and LinkedIn leads searches,” and it’s easy to read 5,000 credits as 5,000 leads. It isn’t. Answering a one-star review in August 2026, the founder wrote that the Tier 2 plan “includes 10,000 credits per month, which is equivalent to up to 2,000 leads, since each lead consumes 5 credits.”
Apply that to every tier and the picture changes:
| AppSumo plan | Credits a month | Leads a month at 5 credits each |
|---|---|---|
| Plan 1 ($69) | 5,000 | Up to 1,000 |
| Plan 2 ($138) | 10,000 | Up to 2,000 |
| Plan 3 ($207) | 15,000 | Up to 3,000 |
| Plan 4 ($276) | 20,000 | Up to 4,000 |
| Plan 5 ($345) | 25,000 | Up to 5,000 |
There’s a second limit on top. Several buyers describe a daily cap. A Plan 1 reviewer wrote in June 2026 that after three city searches the tool said they had “used all 3 searches for today.” The founder’s reply explains that the daily limit “only applies when using SmatLeads’ default API,” a safeguard added after abuse of the shared key, and that “if you connect your own API key… those daily search limits are removed.” SmatLeads’ own FAQ says unlimited Google search “uses your own free Google API key,” with about a two-minute setup. Turns out the realistic plan is to set up your own Google key on day one. We didn’t read Google’s own billing terms for that key, so check them before you rely on “free.”
The same founder reply gives the per-search ceiling: Google returns up to 20 businesses per request, and SmatLeads says it has raised that “to up to 60 leads per search.”
Worked examples: what each plan covers
A web designer chasing dentists in three cities. At up to 60 leads a search, three cities give about 180 leads, or 900 credits. Plan 1’s 5,000 credits cover roughly five rounds like that a month. That’s plenty for one person. The catch, when you’re on Plan 1, is that it can’t send email from SmatLeads, so you’d export a CSV into your own sender.
A two-person agency pulling 2,000 leads a month. That’s 10,000 credits, exactly Plan 2. Plan 2 also brings the email sender, 5 mailing accounts, 10,000 email subscribers or leads, and 5 cold-calling campaigns a month. In practice you’d run at the ceiling every month, so honestly, Plan 3 is the safer buy if growth is likely.
A team of eight. Plan 2’s card lists no team-member line at all. Plan 3 is the first card to list team members (15), plus 20 mailing accounts, 24/7 priority live chat and “100 SMS and 100 email verification credits.” For any shared use, Plan 3 is where the listing starts to make sense.
A heavy SEO-report user. If the audit report is your main pitch, the numbers are generous: 500 SEO reports a month on Plan 1, 2,000 on Plan 3. Honestly, most people won’t send 500 cold audits a month.
If you’ve read the worked examples and still aren’t sure, don’t forget the cheapest way to decide is to buy Plan 1, run a month of real searches, and upgrade only once you know your volume, while the listing is still live.
The plans on AppSumo

One-time prices on AppSumo, read 29 October 2026; each plan is a number of stacked codes (1 to 5), though the terms say 'Stack up to 2 codes'. SmatLeads' own site sells Starter $39/mo (500 credits), Pro $59/mo (2,500 credits) and Premium $99/mo (15,000 credits, email, SMS, verification, 10 seats).
Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on SmatLeads’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.
Plans 2 to 5 cap stored email subscribers or leads at 10,000, 20,000, 40,000 and 50,000, and allow 5, 20, 40 and 50 cold-calling campaigns a month. Plans 3, 4 and 5 add 24/7 priority live chat and 100, 150 or 200 SMS and email verification credits. When you compare tiers, don’t forget the cards never say whether those verification credits are monthly or one-off. The “was” prices are the listing’s own figures; we don’t treat them as savings.
The deal vs SmatLeads’ own plans
SmatLeads’ own site sells monthly subscriptions, read on 29 October 2026:
| SmatLeads’ own plan | Price | Lead credits | AI credits | What’s crossed out or included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $39/mo | 500 | 500 | No SEO reports, email sending, SMS or email verification |
| Pro | $59/mo | 2,500 | 2,500 | 100 SEO reports; email automation, SMS and team collaboration crossed out |
| Premium | $99/mo | 15,000 | 4,000 | 200 SEO reports, email sending and automation, SMS, verification, 10 seats, “All future feature updates” |
On raw allowances the AppSumo plans are generous. Plan 1 at $69 once carries ten times Starter’s lead credits and twice Pro’s, and it costs less than two months of Starter. Plan 3 at $207 matches Premium’s 15,000 credits, adds more AI credits and more seats, and costs about the same as two months of Premium.
Now the clause to read slowly. The deal terms promise “All future Starter Plan updates.” On SmatLeads’ own site, Starter is the bottom tier, and its card crosses out SEO reports, email sending, SMS and email verification. The site’s FAQ says version 2.0’s SMS, automation and verification are “All available on the Premium plan.” So the written promise ties AppSumo buyers to the plan that gets the fewest features. If you’ve bought deals tied to a vendor’s top tier before, this one works the other way round.
What happens in practice is less clear-cut. In June 2026 a Tier 5 buyer said they were seeing a message that “Unified Inbox is only available on a paid plan” and emails asking them to pay for new features. The founder replied the same day that “every user of SmatLeads has access to the version 2.0 and the new features.” We can’t settle that dispute from the pages. When you buy, get the founder’s statement in writing from support, and check that every feature on your plan card actually opens in your account within the refund window.
What buyers report
The listing shows 4.39 stars from 142 reviews: 114 five-taco, 3 four-taco, 5 three-taco, 6 two-taco and 14 one-taco ratings. Honestly, that’s a split, not a consensus.
Long-term fans. A July 2026 reviewer who bought more than a year earlier wrote that the tool “was already good” and the update made it better, while noting a “communication issue” during the move to version 2.0 that was eventually resolved. Another July 2026 reviewer said they booked five meetings in one week after just over a month of use, and asked for a higher daily limit. A September 2026 reviewer called it “a helpful addition” to their prospecting toolkit.
Volume complaints. A Tier 2 team wrote in August 2026 that they averaged “60 – 120 per search and a total volume 650 PER MONTH,” and that their question about it went unanswered. The founder’s reply is the source of the 5-credits-per-lead figure above. A July 2026 two-taco review said most Google Business Profile searches returned “about 15-20 leads,” and that domain enrichment found no email or phone even where both were visible on the site.
Support and stability. In early September 2026 a buyer described two weeks of one-line replies about emails being sent from their personal address instead of their business domain. The founder replied later that month that the sender bug “has now been fixed.” In June 2026 the founder also wrote that Bing search was affected by a change in Bing’s third-party API and that they were working on it. On the questions tab, an October 2026 buyer asked whether the company was “still live” after failing to reach support; the founder answered the next day with the support address and migration steps.
Unanswered questions. A detailed October 2026 question about LinkedIn coverage in Scandinavia, the UK, the EU and the US, job-title filters and GDPR had no answer when we read it. Neither did an October 23 question about letting website visitors run their own Google Business Profile audits. A September 2026 question about narrowing searches by industry and company size got a reply pointing to the support email, not an answer.
The terms
The deal terms read:
- “Lifetime access to SmatLeads”
- “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase”
- “All future Starter Plan updates”
- “Stack up to 2 codes”
The guarantee line reads “Not covered by We Got Your Back. Listed by the partner, not reviewed by AppSumo.” The refund line reads “Refundable up to 60 days.”
Two things don’t line up. The terms say “Stack up to 2 codes,” but the listing sells plans of 3, 4 and 5 codes. And the founder wrote in September 2026 that “the tier 2 have 500 email verification,” while the Plan 2 card lists no verification credits at all. Ask support which applies when you buy anything above Plan 2.
SmatLeads vs Lusha and Apollo
The listing names Lusha as the alternative, and SmatLeads’ own site compares itself with Apollo, Instantly, ZeroBounce and HubSpot. We didn’t price or test Lusha or Apollo for this review, so we won’t repeat the vendor’s price comparisons. The honest difference is focus. SmatLeads starts from local businesses on Google Business Profile and Bing Places, then wraps SEO and audit reports around them, which suits someone selling websites or SEO to local firms. If you’ve got a B2B list problem, such as reaching SaaS founders by job title, the listing’s own unanswered questions suggest you should confirm the filters exist before buying.
Common mistakes with the SmatLeads deal
Reading credits as leads. At 5 credits per lead, 5,000 credits is up to 1,000 leads.
Buying Plan 1 to send campaigns. The built-in email sender starts at Plan 2.
Living on the shared API. Skip the shared key as soon as you can: the daily search cap applies to SmatLeads’ default key, so set up your own Google key early.
Trusting the update clause to cover new features. “All future Starter Plan updates” points to the vendor’s lowest tier.
Missing the migration. Version 2.0 is at app.smatleads.io and needs a password reset on first login.
Assuming team seats on Plan 2. Team members first appear on the Plan 3 card.
Who SmatLeads suits
A freelancer selling websites or SEO to local businesses. Plan 1 finds the leads and builds the audit report; you send from your own email tool.
A small agency running cold email. Plan 3, for the sender, 20 mailing accounts and 15 team members.
Someone who needs global B2B contacts by job title. Skip it until the founder answers those filter questions.
Anyone who needs fast support guarantees. Read the 2026 one-taco reviews first.
How to test it inside the refund window
- Connect your own Google API key on day one, and note whether the daily cap lifts.
- Run five searches you’d really sell into, and count the leads each returns against the 60 ceiling.
- Check your credit balance after those searches to confirm the 5-credits-per-lead rate.
- Open every feature on your plan card, including the unified inbox and verification, and screenshot anything that asks you to upgrade.
- Send one support ticket and time the reply, then decide well before day 60. In practice, a slow first answer is a fair preview of later ones.
What we couldn’t check
We didn’t run searches, check contact accuracy or send campaigns. The refund-policy link on SmatLeads’ site returned “Not Found” when we tried it, so we couldn’t read the vendor’s own refund terms; its FAQ only says support will “make it right.” We couldn’t confirm whether the stacking limit is 2 codes or 5, whether verification credits are monthly, what the “up to 15 ADA website widget” line in the plan selector refers to, or whether version 2.0 features are fully unlocked on every tier.
FAQ: SmatLeads questions
Is SmatLeads a one-time payment on AppSumo?
Yes. Plans run from $69 once for one code to $345 once for five codes, read on 29 October 2026.
How many leads do SmatLeads credits buy?
The founder says each lead consumes 5 credits, so Plan 1’s 5,000 monthly credits equal up to 1,000 leads, and Plan 2’s 10,000 equal up to 2,000.
Can SmatLeads Plan 1 send cold emails?
Not from the plan card we read. “Contact leads (built-in email sender)” starts at Plan 2. On Plan 1 you can export leads to CSV or PDF.
Is the SmatLeads deal refundable?
Yes. The listing says “Refundable up to 60 days,” but it is not covered by AppSumo’s We Got Your Back guarantee.
The verdict
SmatLeads packs a lot into a one-time price: local lead search, branded SEO and audit reports, an AI writer and a CRM, with email outreach from Plan 2. On allowances alone the AppSumo plans beat SmatLeads’ own monthly subscriptions by a wide margin. The score stays modest because of what sits around those allowances: credits that buy a fifth as many leads as they appear to, a daily cap unless you bring your own key, an update clause tied to the vendor’s weakest plan, and a run of 2026 reviews about support delays. When you buy, pick Plan 1 or Plan 3, test hard in the first month, and use the 60-day refund if the searches don’t return the volume you need.
