Bottom line: SocialBu is a social media scheduler and analytics tool from a bootstrapped team in Lahore, Pakistan, founded in 2019. On AppSumo it sells five lifetime tiers, from $49 to $799 once, and the listing is “Refundable up to 60 days.” The detail to read first is what Tier 1 leaves out. The $49 plan schedules posts to 10 accounts, but it has no social inbox, no automations, no SocialBu Listen, no Content Curation and no AI + MCP server. Those start at Tier 2, $129. Tiers 4 and 5 are sold only to AppSumo Plus members. The guarantee line reads “Plus members are covered by our We Got Your Back guarantee,” so if you aren’t on Plus, the 60-day refund is your safety net.
Best for: solo marketers, small businesses and small agencies who want to schedule across many networks without a monthly bill.
Think twice if: you post links to X every day, need to publish to personal Facebook profiles or Facebook Groups, or want a Canva integration built in.
We have no affiliate deal with SocialBu or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.
Updated 29 October 2026. This SocialBu review rests on what we read that day: the SocialBu listing on AppSumo, including all five plans, the deal terms, the FAQ, the founder’s posts, questions and reviews, and SocialBu’s own pricing page. We haven’t scheduled posts with it, so we describe the plans, the limits and what buyers report, not how reliably posts go out.

What SocialBu does
SocialBu is one dashboard for publishing to, and reporting on, your social accounts. The listing’s FAQ names 12 supported platforms: LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, Threads, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Bluesky, Pinterest, Mastodon and Google Business Profile. The features the listing describes fall into five groups:
- Publishing: compose and schedule posts for every network from one place, preview them, recycle evergreen content, bulk import posts by CSV, and move posts around a drag-and-drop calendar.
- Brands and teams: separate workspaces per brand or client, roles and permissions, custom queues, and a Google Drive connection for pulling in media.
- Analytics: post and account performance across networks, comparisons by network, top-performing content, and filters by type, account or period.
- Listening and curation: discover content to share, filter it by topic or source, and track keywords in your niche.
- AI and automation: an AI writer with monthly credits, no-code automation workflows, a social inbox, and an MCP server that lets assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude work inside your account.
The founder, Umar Khan, posted on 14 October 2026 that SocialBu “now works inside ChatGPT,” using “30+ real SocialBu tools” to draft, schedule, approve posts and pull analytics. The connection address given is socialbu.com/mcp. The FAQ adds Bitly and LinkMngr as supported link shorteners.
When you plan which networks to connect, read the platform limits too; the FAQ is candid about them. SocialBu can’t publish to Facebook Groups, because “Meta removed Facebook Group publishing from its third-party API.” Only Instagram Business and Creator accounts can be published to directly, not personal ones. And there’s “no direct Canva integration currently”; you export designs and upload them.
The line most people miss: what Tier 1 leaves out
Here’s the thing that decides which plan you buy. The plan table on the listing gives Tier 1 crosses on four rows that every other tier ticks: Social inbox, AI + MCP server, SocialBu Listen and Content Curation. Tier 1 also shows 0 automations, and the FAQ confirms it: “AppSumo Tier 1 does not include automations.”
So the $49 plan is a scheduler with analytics, an AI writer (500 credits a month), bulk import, the calendar and Google Drive. It is not the “all-in-one” workspace the founder’s welcome message describes, with “unified inbox, analytics, automations, reports.” If you’ve read the overview and expected replies, auto-posting from RSS and the ChatGPT connection at $49, honestly, budget $129 instead. One October buyer wrote that they bought SocialBu “specifically for the ChatGPT integration.” That integration isn’t on Tier 1.
The second limit most people miss is links on X. The FAQ says monthly link posts on X are capped and “shared across all connected X accounts”: 10 on Tier 1, 20 on Tier 2, 30 on Tier 3 and 50 on Tier 4. We found no figure for Tier 5. X posts without links count only toward your normal monthly allowance. If you’ve got a habit of sharing each new blog post to X, this cap will bite long before the 600-post limit does.

One-time prices on AppSumo, read 29 October 2026; no codes or stacking, one licence per tier, and Tiers 4 and 5 need AppSumo Plus. SocialBu's own site sells Starter $29 a month ($261 annually), Growth $79 a month ($711 annually) and Agency $199 a month ($1791 annually), plus a free plan with 3 accounts and 10 lifetime posts. The FAQ says AppSumo tiers 'do not map directly to Starter, Growth, or Agency.'
Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on SocialBu’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.
Every tier shows “Lifetime access” and ticks for multiple brands, every social platform, Google Drive, the calendar and scheduling, bulk import, AI content, analytics and the ChatGPT plugin. The listing’s page title frames Tier 1 as “$49 once vs $264/yr”; the listing showed no struck-through prices on the plan cards.
The FAQ fills in limits that the table doesn’t show. Automations come with a monthly execution cap: Tier 2 gets 5,000 runs a month and Tiers 3 and 4 get 20,000. SocialBu Listen gives Tier 2 one Listener and 3,000 matched items a month, and Tiers 3 and 4 three Listeners and 5,000 items. Regular keyword listening doesn’t use AI credits, but AI filtering, sentiment and tagging use one credit per item.
Counting is plain, though most people miss how fast it adds up when you cross-post. “Publishing to one social account counts as one post,” so sending the same update to five accounts is five posts. Drafts, replies and direct messages don’t count. Each Facebook Page, LinkedIn Page or X profile is one social account.
The limits have moved up since launch, which is worth knowing. A founder post dated 20 August 2026 raised Tier 2 from 1,200 to 1,500 posts and Tier 3 from 3,600 to 5,000. Tier 4 was added on 8 September for Plus members, and on 15 September its accounts went from 75 to 150. Tier 5 arrived on 26 October.
Picking a plan: four worked examples
A solo creator on five networks. Say you’ve got five accounts and post once a day to each. That’s 5 × 30 = 150 posts a month, a quarter of Tier 1’s 600. Tier 1 fits, as long as you don’t need the inbox or automations, and as long as you share no more than 10 links a month on X.
A small business that shares every blog post. Eight accounts, two posts a day each, is 8 × 2 × 30 = 480 posts, still inside Tier 1. But if one of those daily posts on X carries a link, that’s 30 link posts a month. Tier 1 allows 10 and Tier 2 allows 20; turns out you’d need Tier 3, at 30, to post a link every day.
A freelancer with six clients. Six clients with four accounts each is 24 accounts, just under Tier 2’s 25. At one post a day per account, that’s 24 × 30 = 720 posts, well under 1,500. Tier 2 also gives three teams on top of your personal workspace, which the founder confirmed on 12 October. Six clients in separate teams would need Tier 3’s ten.
A growing agency. Fifteen clients with four accounts each is 60 accounts, past Tier 2 and inside Tier 3’s 75. At two posts a day per account, that’s 60 × 2 × 30 = 3,600 posts a month, under Tier 3’s 5,000. In practice, Tier 3 at $279 is the one most agencies will land on, which is presumably why the listing marks it “Recommended.”
Don’t forget that quotas are pooled. The founder wrote on 12 October that AI credits, posts, automation runs and Listen items are “pooled under the billing owner,” not a fresh allowance per team.
The deal vs SocialBu’s own plans
SocialBu’s pricing page, read on 29 October 2026, sells subscriptions:
| SocialBu’s own plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | Accounts | Posts a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 3 | 10 lifetime posts |
| Starter | $29 a month | $22 a month ($261 annually) | 8 | 750 |
| Growth | $79 a month | $59 a month ($711 annually) | 20 | 3,000 |
| Agency | $199 a month | $149 a month ($1791 annually) | 50 | Unlimited |
Each paid plan offers a free 7-day trial. The compare table lists Starter with no teams and “No Social Inbox,” Growth with 50 automations and 5,000 runs a month, and Agency with 100 automations and 20,000 runs.
The FAQ is clear that the two price lists don’t line up: “AppSumo tiers are separate lifetime plans with their own features and limits. They do not map directly to Starter, Growth, or Agency.” So read the term “All future custom AppSumo plan updates” as updates to your AppSumo tier, not to a public plan. The FAQ adds that entirely new products, paid add-ons or features with “separate third-party or usage costs may not be included.”
Even so, the sums are simple. Tier 1 at $49 once costs less than two months of Starter at $29. Tier 3 at $279 once costs less than four months of Growth at $79, and it has more accounts (75 against 20). Tier 2 has fewer posts than Growth (1,500 against 3,000) but more accounts (25 against 20). Honestly, if you’d keep SocialBu for even a year, the one-time tiers are far cheaper on these pages.
What buyers report
The listing shows 4.65 stars from 51 reviews, with 44 five-taco ratings, 2 four-taco, 2 three-taco and 3 one-taco. It also shows 941 bought.
Bulk scheduling gets praise. A 1 October 2026 reviewer used it for their Inktober posts and wrote that customising each post per platform “is worth the service alone.” Their one gap was personal Facebook profiles; the founder replied on 2 October that Facebook’s API doesn’t allow third-party tools to publish there. A 2 October reviewer said they scheduled “four months worth of content” in about a week.
Evergreen campaigns work for one freelancer. A 19 October solo marketer described a campaign set to post twice a week for 52 weeks, and liked having “no recurring subscription.”
The Tier 4 change caused a real dispute. On 8 October a Plus buyer posted a one-taco review titled “Avoid this deal, the founder lacks integrity.” They said they hadn’t received the 150 accounts their Tier 4 was mapped to, and that accounts disconnected daily, with “20 emails saying ‘Socialbu has disconnected.'” They later refunded and bought another tool. The founder, in a reply edited 13 October, apologised and explained that when Tier 4 went “from 75 connected accounts at $449 to 150 at $499,” SocialBu first treated them as two versions of the plan. Turns out the account-limit half of the dispute came down to how one tier was relabelled. He called the daily disconnections “not acceptable” and asked to continue in the support thread.
And it isn’t fully settled. On 27 October another buyer asked why the Tier 4 increase to 150 accounts “is not showing” on their existing account, although the 15 September post says existing Tier 4 holders get it automatically. We found no answer yet.
Detailed questions get detailed answers. When you ask something specific, the founder tends to reply at length. On 12 October the founder answered a long pre-purchase question, confirming Tier 2 and 3 execution limits and saying a September guide’s “unlimited” statement “is incorrect.” A 10 October question asked about Reddit’s announced API changes; the founder replied on 12 October that they “will take actions accordingly,” without detail. The listing says SocialBu is “Expected to respond within 24 hours.”
The terms
The deal terms read:
- “Lifetime access to SocialBu.”
- “All future custom AppSumo plan updates.”
- “If Plan name changes, deal will be mapped to the new Plan name with all accompanying updates.”
- “No codes, no stacking—just choose the plan that’s right for you.”
- “You must activate your license within 60 days of purchase.”
- “Ability to upgrade between 4 license tiers while the deal is available.”
- “Ability to downgrade between 4 license tiers within 60 days of purchase.”
The visible terms say “4 license tiers,” while the plan data on the same page says 5, and five are on sale. Upgrades only work while the deal is live, and the listing says “Limited-time deal,” so don’t forget that the upgrade path closes when the deal does. The guarantee line reads “Plus members are covered by our We Got Your Back guarantee.” The refund line reads “Refundable up to 60 days.”
SocialBu vs Buffer, Hootsuite and Sprout Social
The listing names Buffer, Hootsuite and Sprout Social as alternatives. All three are subscription tools, and we didn’t price them for this review, so we can’t say which costs less for your setup. What we can say from SocialBu’s own pages: it covers 12 networks, including Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads and Google Business Profile, and the AppSumo tiers are a one-time payment rather than a monthly bill. If you’ve already got a Buffer, Hootsuite or Sprout Social bill, put it next to these one-time prices yourself. If you need a long-established vendor with enterprise contracts, compare those directly. One unhappy reviewer moved to AdaptlyPost, another AppSumo scheduler; we didn’t compare the two here.
Common mistakes with the SocialBu deal
Buying Tier 1 for the inbox or automations. Tier 1 has neither, and no ChatGPT or Claude connection either.
Forgetting the X link cap. Ten link posts a month across all X accounts on Tier 1. Daily link sharing needs Tier 3.
Counting posts per network instead of per account. One update to five accounts is five posts.
Assuming teams multiply your quota. When you add a team, its posts, AI credits and automation runs still come out of the owner’s pool.
Waiting to upgrade. The terms allow upgrades only “while the deal is available.”
Connecting a personal Instagram or posting to Facebook Groups. Neither is supported for direct publishing.
Who SocialBu suits
A solo creator or small business. If you’ve got a handful of networks and don’t post links to X every day, Tier 1 covers it.
A freelancer managing a few clients. Tier 2 adds the inbox, automations, listening and three teams.
A small agency. Tier 3, with 75 accounts, 5,000 posts and ten teams, is the realistic floor.
Anyone who needs Tier 4 or 5. You’ll need AppSumo Plus first; we didn’t price Plus for this review.
Teams that rely on Facebook Groups or personal profiles. Skip the deal; the platform APIs don’t allow it.
How to test it inside the refund window
- Connect every account you plan to use in the first week, not gradually, and watch for disconnection emails over the next fortnight.
- Schedule a week of real posts, including at least one link post to X, and check each one went out.
- Bulk import a CSV of 20 or 30 posts to see how the template handles your format.
- Build one automation on Tier 2 or above, such as an RSS-to-post rule, and confirm it runs.
- Check your plan limits in your account match the tier you bought, especially on Tier 4, before day 60.
What we couldn’t check
We didn’t schedule posts, connect accounts or measure how often connections drop. We couldn’t find Tier 5’s X link-post limit, or Tier 5’s automation run and Listen limits; the FAQ lists figures only up to Tier 4. We couldn’t confirm whether the 27 October Tier 4 question was resolved, how SocialBu will handle Reddit’s API change, or what AppSumo Plus costs. The terms say “4 license tiers” while five are listed; ask support which applies to upgrades.
FAQ: SocialBu questions
Is SocialBu a one-time payment on AppSumo?
Yes. The five tiers are $49, $129, $279, $499 and $799 once, as read on 29 October 2026. Tiers 4 and 5 need AppSumo Plus, so don’t forget to check your membership first.
Does SocialBu Tier 1 include automations and the social inbox?
No. The listing’s table shows crosses for Social inbox, AI + MCP server, SocialBu Listen and Content Curation on Tier 1, and 0 automations.
Does SocialBu work with ChatGPT and Claude?
Yes, through its MCP server, on Tier 2 and above. The founder’s 14 October post says the same connection works with Claude, Cursor and Windsurf.
Can I get a refund on the SocialBu deal?
Yes. The listing says “Refundable up to 60 days.” We Got Your Back cover applies to Plus members, per the listing.
The verdict
SocialBu is a well-reviewed scheduler with wide network coverage, and the one-time tiers are far cheaper than its own subscriptions on the pages we read. The catch is the tier choice: Tier 1 is a scheduler only, and the features that make SocialBu more than that start at $129. The Tier 4 dispute and reports of disconnections are worth weighing, and the refund window is the place to test both. In practice, Tier 2 or Tier 3 is the honest starting point for most buyers.
