Bottom line: Writecream is an AI writing and SEO tool. It writes long articles from a keyword, scores existing pages, runs keyword and competitor research, drafts cold emails and ad copy, and adds a “Backlink Autopilot” that places links to your site inside content it writes for other users. On AppSumo it sells five plans, $59 to $295 once. The detail to read first is the AI credit line: Plan 1 gets “250 (~ 500,000 characters)” a month, and Plan 5 gets “2,000 (~ 4 Million characters).” That’s a monthly cap, while Writecream’s own subscriptions advertise “Unlimited words.” The listing is refundable up to 60 days, but it’s “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”
Best for: bloggers, small agencies and solo marketers who publish a steady, predictable number of articles and want SEO research and outreach copy in the same place.
Think twice if: you need unlimited drafting, top-quality writing in a language other than English, or you’re wary of automated link exchange.
We have no affiliate deal with Writecream or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.
Updated 29 October 2026. This Writecream review rests on what we read that day: the Writecream listing on AppSumo, including all five plans, the deal terms, questions and reviews, Writecream’s new pricing page and its classic Writecream page with the older subscription prices. We haven’t generated articles with it, so we describe the plans, the limits and what buyers report, not output quality.

What Writecream does
Writecream is a browser app with a long list of AI tools under one login. The listing now calls it “Writecream – Your SEO Agent,” and the pitch has moved from copywriting toward search. The listing groups the features like this:
- Research: competitor page analysis (structure, topics, word counts, headings), keyword research, domain analysis and content briefs with NLP terms.
- Writing: a one-click article writer the listing says goes “from a single keyword to a fully-written, 2000+ word article complete with royalty-free images in under 5 minutes,” plus a long-form editor and 75+ languages.
- Optimising: import a URL or paste text, and it gives a real-time SEO score with recommendations.
- Publishing: direct publishing to WordPress, with Blogger, Shopify and an API named as integrations.
- Extras: AI voiceovers, an image generator, cold emails and LinkedIn intros, ad and landing-page copy, a plagiarism checker and an “AI Humanizer.”
The listing’s FAQ names the SEO agent “Lexi AI Agent,” which it says analyses competitors, finds content gaps and runs “real-time SEO analysis based on over 50 ranking factors.” Writecream’s classic page says Lexi “analyzes the top 10 search results for any keyword” and calls it Lexi 2.0.
The credit cap most people miss
Here’s the line most people miss. Every plan card lists “AI credits per month,” with a character estimate next to it. Plan 1 is “250 (~ 500,000 characters),” Plan 2 is “500 (~ 1 Million characters),” Plan 3 is “1000 (~ 2 Million characters),” Plan 4 is “1500 (~ 3 Million characters)” and Plan 5 is “2,000 (~ 4 Million characters).” So one credit works out to about 2,000 characters on the listing’s own maths.
Writecream’s classic page sells its Unlimited plan at $29 a month with “Unlimited words,” and Pro Max at $49 a month, also “Unlimited words.” The AppSumo deal isn’t that plan. It’s a lifetime allowance that refills each month, and when you’ve used it, you wait. A May 2025 reviewer said exactly this: “the credit points get used up too quickly.”
The other caps on the cards matter less, but don’t forget them. Plan 1 gets 50 “SEO content analysis queries per month” and Plan 2 gets 100. “Golden nugget keywords” reads “N/A” on Plans 1 and 2, so the low-competition keyword finder starts at Plan 3, where domain analysis and keyword reports also become “Unlimited.”
The plans
| AppSumo plan | Price | AI credits a month | Team | Backlink sites | SEO analysis a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plan 1 | $59 | 250 (~500,000 characters) | 1 | 1 | 50 |
| Plan 2 | $118 | 500 (~1 million characters) | 2 | 2 | 100 |
| Plan 3 | $177 | 1,000 (~2 million characters) | 5 | 3 | 150 |
| Plan 4 | $236 | 1,500 (~3 million characters) | 7 | 4 | 200 |
| Plan 5 | $295 | 2,000 (~4 million characters) | 10 | 5 | 250 |
AI images run from 500 a month on Plan 1 to 2,500 on Plan 5. Domain analysis and keyword research reports are 500 a month on Plan 1, 1,500 on Plan 2 and unlimited from Plan 3. Every card also lists landing pages, content templates, Google and Facebook ads, 75+ languages, and social media and YouTube ideas. The listing shows no struck-through “was” price on any plan when we read it.
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Plan 1 Solo bloggers |
$59 once |
| Plan 2 Busier blogs |
$118 once |
| Plan 3 Small agencies |
$177 once |
| Plan 4 Content teams |
$236 once |
| Plan 5 Agencies |
$295 once |
One-time prices on AppSumo; each plan is a number of stacked codes (1 to 5). Writecream's classic page lists Free Forever $0, Unlimited $29 a month and Pro Max $49 a month; its new agent pricing lists Growth $49 and Pro $99 a month per website, monthly only, with a 7-day trial.
Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on Writecream’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.
Picking a plan: three worked sums
These are rough sums from the card limits, not tests. We assume about six characters per English word including spaces; your real use will vary, and images or research may draw on separate allowances.
A blogger posting twice a week. Eight or nine articles a month at 2,000 words is about 17,000 words, or roughly 100,000 characters. Plan 1’s 500,000 characters covers that with room for edits, rewrites and some outreach emails. In practice, Plan 1 fits, as long as you can live without the golden nugget keyword tool.
A small content agency. Turns out forty 2,000-word articles a month is about 480,000 characters, which eats almost all of Plan 1 before a single rewrite. Plan 3’s 2 million characters gives four times the room, five seats and unlimited keyword reports. If you’ve got three or more writers, start there.
A freelancer running outreach. Cold emails are short, maybe 600 characters each. Even 500 emails a month is around 300,000 characters. Plan 1 handles that alone, but don’t forget articles draw from the same pool.
Honestly, when you’re unsure, buy one code and watch the meter for a month. Codes stack up to five, so you can add more while the listing is live.
The deal vs Writecream’s own plans
Writecream now runs two price lists. The classic page, read on 29 October 2026, lists:
| Writecream classic plan | Price | What the card says |
|---|---|---|
| Free Forever | $0 | 20 credits (~40,000 chars), 2 long articles, 4 short articles |
| Unlimited | $29 a month | Unlimited words, 55+ premium AI tools, 100 voice-overs and 100 AI images |
| Pro Max | $49 a month | 5 seats, unlimited words, 60+ tools, unlimited voice-overs and images |
The new pricing page sells AI marketing “agents” instead: Growth at $49 a month per website with 250 “crew hours,” and Pro at $99 a month per website with 750. Both are monthly only, with a 7-day trial.
So what does an AppSumo code buy in the new product? The pricing page answers it directly. Lifetime holders get “Everything you bought, and the new crew on top,” and “Each code adds one website.” Crew hours “match your plan’s monthly AI credits, 250 on Tier 1 up to 2,000 on Tier 5, shared across your websites.” It also promises that “nothing you already have can be taken away or moved behind a new price.” That’s a reassuring line to have on the vendor’s own page.
Two details don’t line up. The same FAQ talks about “Past five codes,” while the AppSumo terms say “Stack up to 5 codes.” And the vendor page says “Up to 5 people on your team get their own login,” while Plan 4 and Plan 5 on AppSumo list 7 and 10 team members. Ask support which applies to AppSumo buyers before you buy Plan 4 or 5 for the seats.
On price alone, Plan 1 at $59 once costs about two months of the classic Unlimited plan. If you’d pay for Unlimited for more than two months, the deal wins, provided 250 credits a month is enough for you.
Backlink Autopilot: read the mechanism
The listing says that when you add your website, “you become part of the Writecream network,” and when the AI “generates content for other users, it intelligently identifies relevant opportunities to insert a backlink to your website.” In other words, it’s an automated link exchange between users, and in return your published articles may carry links to theirs.
Google’s own spam policies list “Excessive link exchanges” and “Using automated programs or services to create links to your site” as link spam. We can’t say how Google treats this particular network, and Writecream says placements are “monitored for relevance and quality.” But if you’ve got a site that matters to your income, read Google’s policy and decide before you switch it on. Skip the feature if you’re unsure; the rest of the tool works without it.
What buyers report
The listing shows 4.84 stars from 633 reviews, 10,084 buyers and 398 questions. The rating leans on older reviews; the recent ones are mixed.
A recent win. On 6 June 2026 a small-business reviewer thanked the team for the SEO agent and Backlink Autopilot, saying their site’s DR grew and they “got the first sale! from SEO!!”
Quality complaints in 2026. A February 2026 reviewer called the new AI features “underdeveloped,” said output in their language came across “robotic and incoherent,” and asked for a bring-your-own-key option. On 9 August 2026 another wrote that “the quality of the texts is very poor, early AI-level.”
Older praise for long form. An August 2023 reviewer named it the “Clear Winner for long form content” among the writers they’d tried, while asking for a longer input box than the 300 characters it allowed.
The update question. On 6 August 2026 a buyer wrote that “The last major feature update was January 2025” and asked whether more was coming. The founder, RobinK, answered the same day: “Yes, absolutely! We have a major update in the works,” starting with a rebuild on the latest Node.js. Later questions, about the API on 31 August and a comparison with Yoast on 30 September, showed no reply in the list we read.
The terms
The deal terms read:
- “Lifetime access to Writecream Plan.”
- “You must redeem your code(s) within 60 days of purchase.”
- “All future Writecream Plan updates.”
- “Stack up to 5 codes.”
The guarantee line reads “Not covered by We Got Your Back. Listed by the partner, not reviewed by AppSumo.” The listing also shows “Refundable up to 60 days.”
Writecream vs Copy.ai and Jasper
The listing names Copy.ai and Jasper as the tools it replaces. Both are subscription AI writers; we didn’t price Copy.ai or Jasper for this review, and we can’t compare output. The practical difference on the pages we read is the billing model: Writecream’s deal is one payment for a monthly credit allowance, plus SEO research and a backlink network that a general AI writer doesn’t advertise. If you mainly want polished marketing copy, the quality complaints above are worth weighing against that.
Common mistakes with the Writecream deal
Reading “lifetime” as “unlimited.” Every plan caps AI credits a month. Only the vendor’s monthly Unlimited plan advertises unlimited words.
Buying Plan 1 for the keyword finder. “Golden nugget keywords” is “N/A” on Plans 1 and 2.
Switching on Backlink Autopilot without reading Google’s link spam rules. It’s an automated exchange; decide on purpose.
Buying Plan 5 for ten seats without asking. The vendor’s FAQ mentions 5 logins; the AppSumo card says 10.
Publishing drafts unedited. Two 2026 reviews call the output poor. Edit before you post, especially outside English.
Forgetting the 60-day redeem window. Codes must be redeemed within 60 days of purchase.
Who Writecream suits
A solo blogger. Plan 1 covers a couple of long articles a week and the SEO score.
A small agency. Plan 3 adds unlimited keyword and domain reports, five seats and three backlink sites.
An outreach-heavy freelancer. Cold emails and LinkedIn intros use little of the credit pool.
A team that needs unlimited drafting or top writing quality. Skip it, or test hard first.
How to test it inside the refund window
- Write three real articles for your own site and note how many credits each one used.
- Run the SEO score on an existing page and check whether the advice makes sense.
- Write one article in your second language, if you publish in one, and have a native speaker read it.
- Publish a draft to WordPress through the integration, to a private post.
- Ask support two questions in writing: the seat count for your tier, and how codes map to websites in the new agent product.
What we couldn’t check
We didn’t generate content, so we can’t judge quality, speed or how many credits an article really costs. We couldn’t confirm whether AppSumo Plans 4 and 5 get 7 and 10 seats in the new agent product or the 5 logins its FAQ mentions, or what “Past five codes” means when AppSumo allows five. We also couldn’t see how the backlink network checks link quality. Settle these before day 60.
FAQ: Writecream questions
Is Writecream a one-time payment on AppSumo?
Yes. Plans run from $59 once (1 code) to $295 once (5 codes), each with a monthly AI credit allowance.
Is the Writecream lifetime deal unlimited?
No. Plan 1 gets 250 AI credits a month (about 500,000 characters) and Plan 5 gets 2,000 (about 4 million). The vendor’s $29 Unlimited subscription is a different plan.
Do AppSumo buyers get the new Writecream agents?
Writecream’s pricing page says lifetime holders get “Everything you bought, and the new crew on top,” with each code adding one website and crew hours matching their monthly AI credits.
Is Writecream refundable?
Yes, the listing says “Refundable up to 60 days.” It’s “Not covered by We Got Your Back.”
The verdict
Writecream packs a lot into one price: an article writer, SEO research, outreach copy and a vendor promise that lifetime codes carry into the new agent product. The catch is in the numbers. Credits are capped monthly, the best keyword tool starts at Plan 3, recent reviews question the writing quality, and the backlink feature is an automated exchange you should judge for yourself. For a steady blogger, Plan 1 is cheap enough to try; write real articles inside the 60 days and keep the refund in mind.
