BreezeDoc review: the free plan might be all you need

BreezeDoc is AppSumo's own e-signature tool, sold for $19 or $49 once. Its own pricing page says even the free plan sends unlimited documents. What the paid plans add, and who should skip them.

Bottom line: BreezeDoc is a simple e-signature tool for freelancers and small businesses, built and sold by AppSumo itself. The AppSumo listing sells two plans, Individual at $19 once and Agency at $49 once. The detail most people miss is on BreezeDoc’s own pricing page: it says there’s “no monthly limit on any plan,” and that the Free plan “sends unlimited documents.” The AppSumo card for Individual, by contrast, still says 20 documents a month. So read what the paid plans actually add before you pay: reminders, custom emails, Stripe card payments and less branding for $19; a team of 10, your own logo and no branding for $49. Also read two answers in the listing’s FAQ: BreezeDoc says it is “not HIPAA-compliant” and “not yet fully GDPR-compliant.”

Best for: US-based freelancers, consultants and small agencies who send simple contracts and want them signed without a subscription.

Think twice if: you work in healthcare, need full GDPR compliance in Europe, or send complex multi-step agreements.

We have no affiliate deal with BreezeDoc or AppSumo; links go to the official pages. How we review.

Updated 29 October 2026. This BreezeDoc review rests on what we read that day: the BreezeDoc listing on AppSumo, including both plan cards, the deal terms, the FAQ and recent buyer reviews, and BreezeDoc’s own pricing page. We haven’t sent contracts through it, so we describe the plans, the terms and the compliance answers, not how fast your clients sign.

What BreezeDoc does

BreezeDoc lets you upload a contract, place signature, initial, date and text fields, and send it to one or several signers. They sign from a link on any device, and recipients “do not need to create an account,” according to the FAQ. BreezeDoc’s pricing page says you can upload “a PDF, a Word file (.doc or .docx), an Excel sheet or an image up to 5 MB, or pick a file from Google Drive,” and it converts the file to a PDF before you add fields.

Every plan, the free one included, lists:

  • Unlimited templates, including premade contract templates such as an NDA, a lease and a freelance contract.
  • Multiple recipients on one document.
  • Invoicing, with Stripe payments on the paid plans.
  • Document passcodes, so a signer needs a code to open the file.
  • API access, with what the FAQ calls “some basic API endpoints.”
  • An audit trail. The pricing page says every completed document ends with an activity page listing when it was sent, opened and signed, by whom, from which IP address and browser.

The document limit the two pages disagree on

Here’s the part that changes the buying decision. The AppSumo plan card for Individual reads “Documents per month: 20,” and the listing’s AI review summary even mentions “only 40 documents per month for the basic plan.” BreezeDoc’s own pricing page says something else entirely. Its FAQ answer reads: “Each document you send is one document, however many people sign it, and there is no monthly limit on any plan.” Its comparison table lists “Unlimited” documents for Free, Individual and Agency alike.

We can’t tell you which page your account will follow; that’s a question for support before you pay. What we can say is that if BreezeDoc’s own page is right, the paid plans are no longer about volume. They’re about features and branding. Honestly, that makes the free plan the first thing to try.

What $19 and $49 add over free

One-time prices on AppSumo; no stacking. BreezeDoc's own pricing page lists a Free plan with unlimited documents and links both paid plans to AppSumo.

Prices checked Oct 29, 2026 on BreezeDoc’s own pricing page. Lifetime deals are listings that can end or change, so check the live listing before you buy.

Individual ($19) buys the workflow features: automatic reminders to people who haven’t signed, your own wording on the signing email, a redirect after signing, and card payments through Stripe on invoices. Branding is reduced, not removed.

Agency ($49) adds a team workspace for up to 10 people, your own logo on recipient-facing emails and documents, and no BreezeDoc branding. The pricing page says Free and Individual “are for one person.”

One buyer’s review explains why the branding line matters. They wrote that “the BreezeDoc logo is just too pronounced” and went back to a monthly subscription. If your clients are corporate, that’s the $49 plan or nothing.

Compliance: two answers to read first

The listing’s own FAQ answers two questions plainly, and both are worth reading before you put client contracts through it.

HIPAA. “Unfortunately, BreezeDoc is not HIPAA-compliant. It would be too costly to implement the necessary requirements.” If you handle patient information, skip it.

GDPR. “BreezeDoc is not yet fully GDPR-compliant, but we will notify users once it is.” The same answer says the interface “is not yet available in other languages.” For a European business sending contracts with personal data, that’s a real limit, not a footnote.

Legal validity. BreezeDoc’s pricing page says that in the US the ESIGN Act and UETA “make electronic signatures valid for most business contracts,” that the EU and UK have similar rules, and that “a few documents, like wills and some court filings, still need ink.” It also says to ask a lawyer if you’re unsure. We’d add: in practice, check what your industry and your country require before switching.

What buyers report

The listing shows 3.68 stars from 172 reviews, lower than most AppSumo tools we’ve read. The recent reviews explain why.

Emails that didn’t send. A buyer in May 2026 liked the signing certificate but said “emails do not send,” so they shared signing links instead. The team replied in September that a bug, where generating a signing link cancelled the pending email invite, “was fixed at the end of August.”

Slow progress. A September 2026 review called it “still not a competitive product,” listing missing team branding, one date field fixed to today’s date instead of a date picker, and a feedback page that asked them to log in again.

Slow replies. Several reviews from May to July 2026 got their first team reply on 23 September 2026. When you’re relying on a signing tool for client work, a two-month wait for an answer matters.

The simple case works. One buyer said they bought it, uploaded a test document and sent a real contract to a client “within 30 min.” For a one-page agreement, that’s the point of the product.

The terms

The deal terms read:

  • “Lifetime access to BreezeDoc.”
  • “All future Lifetime Plan updates.”
  • “No codes, no stacking—just choose the plan that’s right for you.”
  • “You must activate your license within 60 days of purchase.”
  • “Ability to upgrade between 2 license tiers while the deal is available.”
  • “Ability to downgrade between 2 license tiers within 60 days of purchase.”

The listing says BreezeDoc is “Created and developed by AppSumo,” and BreezeDoc’s own footer says it’s “Part of the AppSumo family.” That means the seller and the maker are the same company, which is reassuring on continuity. It also means the refund and the product sit under one roof.

BreezeDoc vs DocuSign and other subscriptions

The listing pitches BreezeDoc as an alternative to Adobe Sign, DocuSign and HelloSign (now Dropbox Sign). Those are established, subscription-priced tools with wider compliance coverage. BreezeDoc’s case is price and simplicity: a free plan with unlimited documents, if its own page holds, and a one-time fee for reminders and branding. Its case is weaker where those tools are strong: HIPAA, full GDPR, other interface languages and complex workflows. If you’re in any of those areas, don’t treat it as a like-for-like swap.

Common mistakes with the BreezeDoc deal

Paying before trying the free plan. Most people skip this step. If you’ve got a handful of contracts a month and don’t mind the branding, the free plan may already cover you.

Buying Individual for a team. It’s for one person. Two people sharing a login is not what the plan describes; buy Agency for a team.

Expecting your logo on $19. Custom logo is a cross on the Individual card. It’s on Agency only.

Using it for health records. It isn’t HIPAA-compliant, and BreezeDoc says so itself.

Trusting email delivery blindly. When you send a contract that matters, check the recipient got it, and keep the signing link as a backup. One buyer relied on links for months.

Ignoring the 60-day activation rule. Activate the licence right away, even if you plan to use it later.

Who BreezeDoc suits

A US freelancer with simple contracts. Start on the free plan. Pay $19 when you want reminders and Stripe payments on invoices.

A small agency. Agency at $49 covers 10 people, your logo and no branding.

A European business handling personal data. Wait until BreezeDoc says it’s fully GDPR-compliant.

A clinic or health practice. Skip it.

How to test it inside the refund window

  1. Start on the free plan and send one real contract to a colleague.
  2. Count your documents for a month and see whether any limit appears.
  3. Check the email reaches the signer, on Gmail and Outlook.
  4. Open the audit page on a completed document and see if it meets your needs.
  5. Ask support in writing which document limit applies to your plan.

What we couldn’t check

We didn’t send documents, test email delivery or time the support desk. We couldn’t resolve which document limit applies to AppSumo buyers: the plan card’s 20 a month or the pricing page’s “no monthly limit.” Those are the questions to settle before day 60.

FAQ: BreezeDoc questions

Is BreezeDoc free?

Yes. BreezeDoc’s pricing page says the Free plan sends unlimited documents with unlimited templates, multiple signers and invoices, with BreezeDoc branding and no reminders.

What does the BreezeDoc lifetime deal add?

Individual ($19) adds reminders, custom emails, redirects and Stripe card payments. Agency ($49) adds a team of up to 10, your own logo and no branding.

Is BreezeDoc HIPAA or GDPR compliant?

The listing’s FAQ says it is not HIPAA-compliant and “not yet fully GDPR-compliant.”

Do signers need a BreezeDoc account?

No. Recipients sign from a link on any device without signing up.

The verdict

BreezeDoc does the simple job well enough: upload a contract, place fields, collect a signature with an audit trail. The best news is on its own pricing page, where even the free plan sends unlimited documents. That turns the lifetime deal into a question of reminders, payments and branding, worth $19 or $49 to many freelancers and agencies. The 3.68-star rating, slow replies on the listing and the HIPAA and GDPR answers keep it from scoring higher, and they’re the first things to weigh.
